Pelosi Signals An End To Her Hold On Articles Of Impeachment; Expects to Release It to Senate 'Soon'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she expects to release her hold on the two articles of impeachment against President Trump "soon," but for now she is still holding out to learn more about how Republicans plan to conduct a Senate trial.

"No, I'm not holding them indefinitely," Pelosi told reporters Thursday at a weekly press conference. "I'll send them over when I'm ready. That will probably be soon."

Pelosi refused to give any additional information about the timing, saying Democrats want to know what Senate Republicans are "willing to do and when they're willing to do it."

Republicans have criticized Pelosi for refusing to take the procedural action of sending the articles to the Senate. The House approved the two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress — largely along party lines on Dec. 18.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., attempted to force Pelosi to drop her hold on Tuesday when he announced plans to approve Senate trial rules without the help of Democrats.

Pelosi reiterated Thursday that she wants more information on what those rules would include. But she also indicated that she was not planning a fight over the details.

"All we want to know is what are the rules, it doesn't mean we have to agree to the rules or we have to like the rules," she said. "We just want to know what they are."

At the core of the disagreement is who — if anyone — would act as witnesses during the trial. Democrats want a deal on that up front, while McConnell wants to sort the issue with additional votes after the first phase of the trial, including opening arguments and a period allowing written questions from senators to both the prosecution and the defense.

"Pelosi couldn’t get any mileage out of her little ploy. She ran this thing until it ran out of gas. What a loser."

When she realized the only vote she had in the Senate was Mike Lee, well, I'm surprised she didn't just quit on the spot.

I suspicion this is just more B.S. from Pelosi
I believe she KNOWS if she releases this to the Senate it’s either “going nowhere”.. or could result in the Senate holding a trial and as Trump has already stated, “I want to see witnesses like Joe and Hunter Biden, Adam Schiff, etc called to testify.

Releasing the impeachment articles results in the Dimms “no longer” having any direct control over the impeachment process and Nutso Nancy fears that most of all.

My suspicion is that is not correct. Bickering about process has always be in the Dems impeachment game plan. I expect the House will send its garbage to the Senate around SOTU time.

All we want to know is what are the rules

Sorry Nancy, you'll have to pass them along to the senate to see what's in store for you ... just like Obamacare.

-- Evidence? Did the House stupidly vote to impeach a president WITHOUT EVIDENCE? --

There is a ton of evidence. All the behind closed doors transcripts plus the public hearings plus the call record itself.

A majority of the House found that the evidnece it had justifies removing POTUS from office. It resolved to present that finding to the Senate.

The problem the majority of the House has is that its reasoning in reaching the conclusion is founded on bad faith leaps and fictional law.

But regardless, it has plenty of evidence, and it can continue the fishing expedition - that process is totally independent of impeachment trial.

None of her business! House has NO role in trying impeachments. She can go fly a kite.

Partner, u hit a grand slam homerun with that statement.

The Impeachment papers will be tossed out by McConJob and he better do this.

We all know that "Schiff for Brains" was the Judge, Jury and Executioner. "Schiff for Brains" is a complete joke and we all know this.

Nancy Pelousy will be eighty years old pretty soon and she has the beginning of Dementia and Alzheimer's and probably why "Nancy Pelousy has a huge problem in drinking too much.
