Don’t make us come back there!
“If it was actually “sent”, that was a HUGE mistake that strains credibility. I have to think this “mistake”, whether it was sent or leaked, was somehow intentional. A sort of shot across the bow of Iraqi leadership that we could pull out if they keep cozying up to Iran.”
This “accidental oopsie”, circulating a draft between top military, might be brilliant. Iraq and Iran now have no idea what we might do. It is going to keep them off base, rethinking, maybe fighting amongst themselves. “The Art of War”?
Will be conducting operations in darkness to prevent the appearance of bringing in more personnel?!
My first thought as well.
Separately, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley told reporters that the letter was ‘a draft. It was a mistake. It was unsigned. It should not have been released.’
The draft was ‘poorly worded’ and ‘implies withdrawal. That is not whats happening,’ Milley declared.
The U.S. military had appeared to inform Baghdad that it was preparing for ‘movement out of Iraq,’ a day after the Iraqi parliament urged the government in a non-binding resolution to oust foreign troops.
The head of the Pentagon task force in Iraq, Brigadier General William Seely, sent a draft letter to the head of Iraq’s joint operations command.
‘Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, [the coalition] will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement,’ Seely wrote. He added: ‘We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure.’

The Pentagon hasn’t confirmed the authenticity of this letter, informing an Iraqi military leader the the U.S. and other coalition forces are pulling up stakes; but Iraqi officers said it’s genuine
While the letter was real, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley told reporters that it was only a draft that should never have been released; Milley is pictured last week at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort

Who “released” it?
Leaked letter. Trap set and little rat caught....
The fake story was churned out by the DNC or another enemy of the US, like the DNC's ally, Iran..
I so agree with you.
I refuse to click or look at a Drudge. He wont get a single hit from me as long as he has TDS.
They never learn. Or they just don't care about getting caught due to all the "lieberal" judges.
A Møøselim once bit my sister ... No realli!
The people responsible for preparing the Iraqi withdrawal letter, have just been sacked.
Mooslime bites can be quite bad, you know!
I think if it were legit it would originate from a higher echelon and formally announced to the public. I'm skeptical, to say the least.
Draft or not, intentional release or not, this should be a biiig wakeup call to the Kurds and others that decided to stay home.
“There is no signature on that letter, sure this is legit?”
turns out: NO ... not legit ...
I’m just trying to understand what could be going on here.. Either the US is intending on leaving and drafted the letter, or they’re not, and someone drafted the letter anyway. If the latter, were they directed to do it, and if so, by whom.
If the former, eh, news got out, confirm it and move on. ‘There’s some issues that need to be clarified as it was a draft letter which was released, but otherwise, it conveys an accurate impression.’
If it was the SecDef’s chief of staff who directed the draft, wow, that’s bigger than a resignation, that’s someone who should be going away in cuffs.
Pelosi reminds me of everyone’s Crazy Auntie who makes lists of her grievances and then trots them out at family gatherings.
My fondest wish? That we remember every d@mn thing this beotch has done to shred our Constitution and our Checks and Balances, and find a way to throw it back in her ugly, smug, evil face as soon as we can!
