BEIRUT (AP) The latest on U.S.-Iran tensions (all times local):
4:45 p.m.
Iraqs parliament has voted to expel the U.S. military from the country.
Lawmakers voted Sunday in favor of a resolution that calls for ending foreign military presence in the country. The resolutions main aim is to get the U.S. to withdraw some 5,000 U.S. troops present in different parts of Iraq.
The vote comes two days after a U.S. airstrike killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani inside Iraq, dramatically increasing regional tensions.
The Iraqi resolution specifically calls for ending an agreement in which Washington sent troops to Iraq more than four years ago to help in the fight against the Islamic State group.
The resolution was backed by most Shiite members of parliament, who hold a majority of seats.
Many Sunni and Kurdish legislators did not show up for the session, apparently because they oppose abolishing the deal.

Fuq Iraq. Please enjoy your new Iranian Overlords
Did the Iraqi Parliament say "get out" or "we want you out"? There is a difference.
Saying "we want you out" without saying "get out" would be a political move to appease Iranian elements in Iraq, without taking action. If that is the case, then despite all the political posturing, U.S. forces stay. Then over a few months, the pro-Iraq and pro-U.S. elements can get their act together.
In real life, politics happen, and surface appearances are not what is really going on.
We should arm both side and let them kill each other.
Thank you.

Boycotting lets the others win ,D’oh
Continuously bomb all moslum countries to the stone age, and don’t let anyone emigrate.
Shiites, Sunni's and Wahabbi's have been at war with each other since the founding of that backwards 7th century religion named islam. That's a fact. Each sect thinks theirs is the closest to their child pedophile prophet, mohammed.
If we're going to pull out of Iraq because the Shiites that dominate the Iraqi Government (read that: Iranians) want us out, then I say pull EVERYTHING out of the middle east and let them go to war with each other.
It will be fun to watch the entire middle east be too busy killing each other to be able to attack anyone else.
Just be prepared to defend yourselves against muslims that are in every country world-wide. Once they go ape-shit crazy in the middle east, they're gonna go crazy and want to kill everywhere.
Time to put them down like the global scourge they are, IMO.
I stand corrected. Thank you for the correct information.
Hillary was behind another big construction project and I assumed it was the Green Zone. With that evil woman we naturally assume the worst.
And we may be in Iraq at the request of Iraqi Kurds.
Anyway, its better to see how things transpire rather than speculate.
Is that true?
If they don’t want us, why would we stay?
The USA won’t be leaving Iraq anytime soon.
Iraq will once agan soon be under the Paliamentry rule of a Sunni dominated government. The Shi’ite have had their chance to govern with the Sunni, and blew it.
Watch carefully what happens next as Christians in Action implement their plans.
Ask slow joe
It won’t make sense to pull out and leave a token force of US Marine guards at the embassy. They’d be sitting ducks. That problem must be addressed. I know we have Marines off shore but.....
“And drop Greta off over there as we leave.”
Yeah, let that little twerp have something to really cry about.
That’s a given. 8>)
Hillary and Obama were as much neocons as GW Bush was. Two sides of the same coin. Anyways, the original costs of under $600 million spiraled during the Obama years. I'm sure that donations to Clinton's charitable foundation and lucrative government contracts awarded could be linked if someone were to actually look into this.
Totally agree.
Good. Lets get out
