Pelosi should block impeachment trial until White House is forced to reveal all
CNN ^ | Updated 9:20 AM ET, Sat December 21, 2019 | Joseph J. Ellis

(CNN)Let's call it the Pelosi Pause. There are no written rules governing the timetable for delivery of the House decision impeaching Donald Trump to the Senate, only custom. But then there were no written rules governing the timetable for a Senate decision on Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland, only custom. If Speaker Nancy Pelosi follows Senator Mitch McConnell's playbook, Donald Trump will never stand trial in the Senate.

Joseph Ellis Joseph Ellis From a Democratic perspective that outcome would be preferable to a show trial, where the conclusion is not just foreordained, but announced beforehand by the Majority Leader after consulting with White House counsel. It's perfect: a rigged trial of a President accused of plotting a rigged election. We can only assume that Senator McConnell will be winking at the camera when he takes the oath of impartiality, "so help me God." Pelosi need not wink, she only needs to wait. How long? Until November 2020, if necessary. McConnell claims that he has all the leverage because he has the votes in the Senate, and that, not the evidence described in the impeachment report, is all that counts. But it counts for nothing until the Senate receives the impeachment recommendation from the House. Dean: Pelosi has leverage over Senate impeachment trial

This is what Speaker Pelosi knows, and that could be why she is waiting

The senate needs to adopt a resolution of the senate that says any articles of impeachment adopted by the house that are not transmitted by the house within 10 days of adoption will not be considered by the senate. Ever.

And the senate should adopt the resolution on the 11th day after impeachment passed the house.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

That POS mcconnell has never put the senate in recess since Trump has been POTUS.

and I'm not sure why...though most think that McConnell doesn't want POTUS to make recess appointments.
I have no idea why both need to hold pro forma sessions.

The impeachment articles died when the House adjourned for the holidays without transmitting the articles to the Senate.

Yep.

This exercise falls at the time of the Saturnists' (DS's) highest feast, the shortest days of the year. This ritual occurring when they've made it occur is NOT a coincidence. The demons are attempting to get maximum power for their farce.

Even with possibly heightened effect, it's not working too well for the DS, as the PDJT White House has been praying to the Living God earnestly every day.

After today, we get more light every day for the next 6 months.

May God bless all those who are working to do His will.

Pelosi might think she is a good game player but she really is up against the master. Trump is going to use this at every rally, every time he is interviewed and he will proclaim he has not been impeached until all their heads explode.

True, but the enemy of We The People will spin this the opposite way. The media will be all out to support the great lies that Trump is impeached and unless he will release his taxes for the demon rat liars to pour over (imagine the lying scum, Schiff, with the president’s tax returns) Mistress Pelicanosi will not deliver the now DEAD articles to the Senate. Ruthie ‘should be with her father the father of lies’ Ginsberg is the key to the next phase in the seditious plot.

The Constitution does not call for delivery or managers. The Houseacted and the articles are in theCongressional Record.

Start the Trail per Senate rules remaining.

“until White House is forced to reveal all”

The RATS are desperate to stay on the offensive. As soon as collusion went south they immediately started on the Ukraine story. As long as they on the offensive the Repubs are not investigating them for attempting to overthrow the govt. Once that investigation happens LOTS of Dems (and maybe some Reps) may be going to jail.

Why would the White House cooperate with these idiots? No matter what they will do, nothing will satisfy the Dems and they will continue to move goalposts or dismiss everything. So let them have their impeachment dossier laying at their desk if it makes them feel good. Meanwhile the adults will continue to work for the good of the country.

The Democrats and “the press” let the Merrick Garland nomination founder. I suspect they didn’t want an investigation into Justice Scalia’s death.

They dropped their plan of action re. getting Garland pushed through like a hot potato. I agree, it had to be they got caught. I can't imagine any other reason these tantrum artists would simply let the opportunity to nominate a SC Justice fade away.

There’s also the suspicion that Scalia’s seat on SCOTUS was promised to Loretta Lynch: after the “most qualified candidate for president ever” and guaranteed winner of the 2016 election was inaugurated. In that scenario, Garland was only a placeholder. Quid pro quo for Comey’s failure to charge anyone for anything related to Clinton’s blatantly illegal personal email server.
