The sudden action of the school police officer seems inexplicable. Unless the child said something to the officer I don't see what provoked this assault. Even if the kid said something I don't see how the officer can justify what he did.
I saw the video. What I saw tells me this is a non-story, soon to fall down the memory hole.
Kind of looks like he gave the officer some lip and the officer overreacted. Inexcusable. That said, kids need to be taught respect. Also this officer needs to be kept far away from children.
I don’t care what the child did or said, the officer was wrong.
Absolutely NO justification for an adult to do this with a child...None whatsoever....
There is nothing a middle school kid can say to a grown up...especially a police office, that warrants what happened to him.
My good friend teaches at inner-city schools. Beyond the violence, disruptiveness, entitlement and bad behavior - the things kids will say to teachers would curl your hair.
I would also like to note the kid was with a school police officer. That kind of defines the environment of that school and situation right there.
Anyway, not at all justifying the cops actions. He should just quietly collect his salary and look forward to his large, tax-payer funded pension and health-care - but I have no doubt there is a back-story as well.
I thought the phrase horror video in the title was a bit over the top. Then I watched the video. That description is accurate.
The only acceptable reason for the behavior on the part of the deputy would be self-defense. And that sure doesnt look like the case here. Ill bet the kid mouthed off to the deputy. And the cops ego got bruised.
Thank goodness for cameras. Otherwise the deputy would be saying The kid attacked me. He tried to poke me in the eye. And everybody would have believed him.
He slammed that kid down hard, for sure.
Had to hurt. Kid could have broken bones...
I saw it, too. This guy must have been brought up on charges previuosly. You don’t suddenly turn into a monster of this sort on a whim.
I dont care what the child did or said, the officer was wrong.
I honestly thing that the second throw down was more of a drop when he picked the kid up after the initial slam down.
That said, if thats my kid, I am in jail for assault and battery, if not attempted murder.
I can’t think of anything that would justify a grown man bodyslamming a small child in that manner. Even if the child yelled the “N” word at the officer at the top of his pre-teen lungs, so what? Those are nothing but words. Get over it.
Antifa will call you far worse.
This officer should not work around children ever again. He makes very poor decisions.
This kid could have a permanent physical problem just from that one incident. A bad knee or elbow, re-occurrent seizures. What could happen when someone accidentally drops a baby? Same scenario.
Nope.
"We a jury of your peers find you innocent, and recommend the officer, if living, be canned and caned."
> This officer should not work around children ever again. He makes very poor decisions. <
A few years in state prison would give him the time he needs to get his mind right.
“Absolutely NO justification for an adult to do this with a child...None whatsoever....”
Go and teach in a inner city school with ghetto thugs and 10% graduation rate. They are out of control
I bet the youngster deserved it and has a JD rap sheet a mile long.
They put people in schools to prevent the kids from being shot but then are beaten by the people there to protect them.
Why did they not put the race of the officer and child in the headline? /s
