What happens now? Well, if the last three years are any indication, SJW remoaners will protest and whine and complain, and they, the opposition politicians, and the courts will do everything in their power to try and continue to thwart him, and “resist” at every step.
Only difference is that up until now, the Tories haven’t had a powerful enough mandate to overcome all the resistance. Hopefully the power they gained last night is finally enough.
At what point does he visit Queen Elizabeth II?
Before or after forming his cabinet?
I don't understand the British system, but I'm hoping that some time this century they will be allowed to actually make Brexit happen.
The other thing about this is the whole scale blood letting of old parliamentarians is going to make the next parliament a lot more anti establishment.
Going to be interesting to see how the new blood changes Parliament. Listening to Sky News talking to the old Speaker, you realize Boris has been fighting parts of his own party as well as the Left for the last year.
It was sort of a Trump-Paul Ryan situation. The old Speaker was pretty much working against Brexit.
Hip hip hooray! for Boris... A victory for freedom and democracy and a very damaging defeat for antisemitic values of Socialism. The Democrats in the United States should be very worried... This is the first death-knell in what will hopefully be a tidal-wave towards democracy and away from the oppressive policies of Socialism.
Sadly... American Democrats have swung too far to the left, and this impeachment for the sake of impeachment of a duly elected leader will be their death-knell.
Scotland could be a problem. They want out.
Heard Jan 31, 2020 is the date they want it done.
They never wanted in!
Let Scotland leave.
Unfortunately that deal keeps the UK subject to EU regulations associated with labour, eco, etc. Boris wanted a clean break but was forced to have a deal in place by the last parliament.
As indicated in the agreement, the regs are in place so as not to give the UK too much of a competitive advantage.
So theyll be out, but in.
No, the SNP wants to leave so that they can join the EU.
RE: So theyll be out, but in.
What the heck does that mean?
The EU and Scotland richly deserve each other.
That so-called soft Brexit is going to make doing a trade deal with the US a lot harder, though....
He's already seen her. They do things very fast over there. If the government had been changing parties the old Prime Minister would be out of 10 Downing Street today. Something we should think about.
I thought he had, to ask the Queen permission to form the government, which she granted.
My wife is British, so we were watching BBC news before going to work this morning. He was already at the palace at 6am ET asking to form a government.
>>No, the SNP wants to leave so that they can join the EU.
Well, first they’ll need to pay the UK trillions of pounds for the “priviledge” of leaving, agree to give up all their territorial waters, agree to let Britain make all their laws for the next hundred years, take in all the mozzies from the UK.. and so on. Basically, Britain should treat Scotland the way the EU treated Britain.
