Yeah the US transition takes 2 and and half months. That was time that 0 used to screw Trump as much as he could.

I will believe it when I see it.

It used to be Oct 31st 2019.

Too many powerful forces on the Pro-Euro side will put every obstacle up to keep it from happening.

“Hip hip hooray! for Boris... A victory for freedom and democracy and a very damaging defeat for antisemitic values of Socialism.”

I’m glad he won over the communist, but let’s not get too carried away thinking he’s a conservagive.

He wants to spend billions more on NHS and reiterated that he will make Britain carbon-free by 2050. He’s a middle of the road Democrat at best.

But like I said, much better than the alternative, especially on Brexit.

Johnson's first big task will be to appoint a new Cabinet. Liberated by a large majority, the prime minister will be free to shape his top team exactly as he pleases without fear of upsetting one faction or another.

Here's my advice, fire everybody and start new.

What will happen? The Labour will say that Boris was helped by Russia or Ukraine or Trump and will try to impeach him... 😋

RE: The Labour will say that Boris was helped by Russia or Ukraine or Trump and will try to impeach him..

Great Minds think alike:

SEE HERE:

https://thefederalist.com/2019/12/13/fusion-gps-tries-to-run-russian-collusion-hoax-redux-against-boris-johnson/

(EXCERPT):

The founders of Fusion GPS, the Democrat-backed consulting firm behind the famously discredited Christopher Steele dossier at the heart of the Russia hoax, are blaming Russia for the liberal Labour Party’s loss in the U.K. elections Thursday. Seriously.

Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch penned an editorial published in the The Guardian, a British newspaper, asserting Russia was behind the triumphant re-election of Brexit-supporting conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Simpson and Fritsch are now urging the British government to launch an investigation into Russian interference in its elections mirroring the size and scale of the U.S. Robert Mueller probe, a two-year investigation studying the Russian collusion conspiracy theory that did irreparable harm to the United States and was based on a web of lies.

IIRC the PM visits the Queen on a weekly basis to go over events and issues.

Time for Parliament to pass a new law requiring a clean break Brexit. Then tell Brussels to get stuffed and walk away.

Amazing woman, the Queen. I’m sure she was prepared and ready before he was!

I’ve loved watching “The Crown” series about her life. The history is wonderful, and so interesting to learn more of her interactions with Churchill and other Prime Ministers through the many years.

Seasons 1 & 2 with Claire Foy/other cast members were excellent. Unfortunately, Netflix changed all the cast members for Season 3, and it’s a huge disappointment for me. I just can’t get connected with the series as before. It’s like watching a totally different show, and one that’s just not as likeable. Netflix producers were crazy to change the cast. That’s like if PBS had decided to change the cast of “Downton Abbey”! Terrible decision by Netflix.

But back to the thread...

Bravo to the British for these 2019 election results!

The opposition will try the equivalent of impeaching Boris.

I think the US and EU negotiations will have to take place in tandem, so that the UK knows what they will get from the US if they give something up with the EU.

If the UK opted to go for a hard brexit and then Trump suddenly turned round and decided to try and play hardball and get a one-sided deal that was advantageous mostly to the US and disadvantageous to the UK The remainers will manage to push the UK back into the arms of Brussels.

I just hope Trump doesn’t take the same attitude towards the UK as he does towards China and start off from the premist that the UK is a friend and ally and not an adversary.
