Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News Tuesday that “the FISA court has to either be shut down in its entirety or they have to take action and soon following the release Monday of Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz’s report on the origins of the Russia investigation and the issuance of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants for a Trump campaign official.

Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said on “America’s Newsroom” that there was something “really important that we wanted the American people to know, but it wasn’t until yesterday and now that people know it. And that is that they [the FBI] ran spies."

Shut the FISA court down, immediately.

The FISA court was created in the aftermath of the FBI and CIA abuses exposed by the Church commission. It was supposed to be an oversight.
Instead it has turned into a backroom rubberstamp where they can undermine the nation with no consequences.

Essentially all it did was make sure the FBI could never again be hauled in front of a new Church commission by giving them a way to demonstrate that they had permission.

Secret courts, hearing secret evidence, are an un-American farce.

I assume because of FISA, the swamp has dirt on just about everyone. Anyone supporting FISA at this point is most likely corrupt or corrupted.

In my own words...IIRC, Comey said....I just sign the warrants. There is no discussion. I’m just in the line to sign.

fisa court was fine while adults were in charge of it; the obamites weaponized as much of the federal government as it could get it’s hands on.

“...or they have to take action and soon...’

‘Action’? Really??

The only action THEY know is chasing their tails like dogs and incessant, self-conscious posturing for the MSM. The real business of governing is an alien concept for them

They got some harsh words from Horowitz this time, but they don't sound worried. What they did violates the 4th amendment, but nobody is seriously challenging FISA law in the SCOTUS nor in congress. In fact, Roberts is in charge of the FISA courts.

Yup, get rid of it! Trump should take this position now and assure the Libratrian candidate doesn’t use this as a way to siphon votes. Also, it puts the Dem candidate as a supporter. Let them run with that

The problem I have with this article, is that it deflects from the agents who misused it. Over decades, every time the Democrats get caught in illegal activity, they push for reform and blame the system. No system is immune from corruption. If the Republicans want to push for reform, do it after they convict the bad guys of their illegal actions.

Didn’t realize you were the moderator, my bad. I should have checked with you first.

Point being, that if anything were fake news it would be Nunes saying that something should be done about a system that he knew was being abused.

And yes, I did go off topic, if only to demonstrate that they don’t give a flying f*ck about us.

How about an audit of all FISA warrants issued in the last 12 years? I believe that would be most telling!
America needs to know what these skunks have been up to.

That is what we hope Barr and Durham are working on. But remenber, what is the real purpose of FISA? It was sold as a tool to fight terrorism, but now it's used to get around the 4th amendment.

I remember several years ago reading that the FISA court had turned down exactly one application that had been submitted to it. Wonder how many that is now? Two?

I disagree. I don't care who is running it. It is not safe to give a secret court using secret evidence made my secret accusers the kind of powers it has. It needs to be abolished completely.

Wasn’t the FISA Court limited to cases of terrorism? That’s what we were told.

We couldn’t prosecute the terrorists because their legal teams would reveal secrets.

How did the FISA Court get jurisdiction of a case involving voting irregularities?

Every FISA subpoena since 2008 needs to be reviewed. Every false statement by an FBI agent needs to be treated exactly the same as how General Flynn was treated.

The only thing that will fix it, is for a few dozen FBI agents to spend some prison time, after spending their life savings on lawyers. There needs to be institutional trauma so bad, that it won’t happen again for generations.
