We need to get rid of them. What the hell were they thinking when this warrant was put before them?. They’re either the dumbest.......... Nevermind, you know what I’m thinking.

Off course it needs to be shut down. It never should have been created.

The SCOTUS Chief Justice oversees FISA court.

Now why hasn’t the Dread Pirate Roberts issued a statement on the FISA court being corrupted?

hmmmmmm.....

Many agree that the CIA has been out of hand for a long time, and the FBI is also in big trouble. There has to be a thought out reorganization that provides checks and balances just like the Constitution does, not a lego building exercise of courts piled on top of agencies. Its a big order but maybe it can be done. IMO it should be done first, not simply address the FISA court which is an add-on. Or, suspend the FISA court in some way until the bigger mess can be ironed out.

I think one of the problems is there is a distinct lack of feedback loops, or those feedback loops reinforce institutional preconceptions and biases.Checks and balances are a good start, but I don't see how you can really make that work with a court that is so one sided (i.e., there is no way to contest secret proceedings, secret evidence and secret accusers. I think the initial idea was to make it somewhat grand jury-like. But that has obviously failed as a check almost completely.

The chart I posted earlier is interesting, especially the point that up until 2003, no request had ever been denied. Up to 2015, the highest ever denied in a year was 5, now suddenly, you have 34 denials in '16 and '17. I, for one, would be extremely interested in the nature of these denials, especially as compared to previous years (approvals and denials). Unfortunately, the Imperial Government doesn't deign to tell us even the broadest generalities about what is going on with this secret court.

I would also be extremely interested in knowing if these 'denials' were actually resubmitted under a different cover, and then approved. Again, we know next to nothing of even the nature of the vast majority of these decisions.

I just don't see how you can 'check' power like that given there is no way to appeal anything, and in fact can be considered the highest court in the land on its subject matter. At least I've never heard of the Supreme Court putting its fingers into that pie. Best to disband it. Sunlight is a universal disinfectant.

Wasn’t the FISA Court limited to cases of terrorism? That’s what we were told.

I don't think it is limited to terrorism, although that is definitely in the sales brochure, and the media uses that atgument.

We couldn’t prosecute the terrorists because their legal teams would reveal secrets.

Not just terrorists. I think any confidential stuff, but foreign agents were a big concern too.

How did the FISA Court get jurisdiction of a case involving voting irregularities?

Sounds like part of the Russia-Trump myth. Of couse Russia "meddles" but so do all nations.

Remember how Hollywood and TV networks used to make the US government's agents the bad guys? FISA was supposed to provide oversight over spying, but that would require judges who would do their jobs instead of rubber stampers.

I totally agree with you. I am sick to damn death of the precursor always being “now the rank and file FBI are really great people”. THEN WHY DID NOT A SINGLE ONE BLOW THE WHISTLE ON ALL THE CORRUPT CRAP GOING ON THERE.?? STILL not a one has come forward.

The FBI is like the Mafia. They are as corrupt as the Chicago Police during prohibition. I’m not giving any quarter to ant rank and file agent. The FBI is now the enemy of the people. The rank and file are the foot soldiers of the Deep State.

When that alleged dossier was brought out I viewed it as someones idea of a satirical piece to be submitted to UK’s Daily Mail or other lefty publication which was rejected probably because of this.
Frankly Trump strikes me as a guy who knows the value of a buck and wouldn’t waste it on a bunch of hookers urinating on a bed just to get even .

Isn’t Chief Justice Roberts responsible for the FISA court judges? ...He needs to can them all for incompetence.

The FISA court judges are totally corrupt and support the coup to this day.

Or they are blind deaf and dumb.

Wonder how land management bureaucrats got all that firepower and swat team tactics?
