Ken Starr says Pelosi engaging in 'abuse of power' and Senate may have to dismiss impeachment case
Fox News ^ | December 5,2019 | Nick Givas

He noted that 31 Democrats supported the Bill Clinton impeachment inquiry and in the case of Richard Nixon, he was facing a united House of Representatives before he resigned.

"Just the opposite of what we're experiencing now. A strict party-line vote," said Starr, adding that Pelosi is acting to achieve her desired political outcome.

"I think this may lead to a [Senate] motion to dismiss, which I don't favor. If the House of Representatives says we're going to impeach, then the Senate should hold a trial. But I think this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. And that Republicans in the Senate just rise up in righteous indignation and say, 'this is absolutely unacceptable.'"

>>The only way this is a win is if it goes to a very public and fair senate trial.

And if prosecutorial malfeasance, and any witness purjory is severely punished.

LOL! More fun still would be calling Pelosi and Schiff in regards to their plottings and Ukraine money lines, Schiff on his dealings with Ciaramella, subpoena phone records. The fun could be never-ending. Let it go on and on, because it's only strengthening the citizen anger with Democrats. That snotty female law professor alone was probably worth a million votes for Trump.

There’s nothing to cross examine. It’s a farce. Any refutation could take place by low level staffers outside a trial.

Doesn’t matter. I am making an academic argument. There WILL be a trial and you will get to witness just how “effective” the Senate RINOs will be.

Meanwhile real crimes appear to have gone unpunished and nothing has been done.

If they somply kick out the charges history will proclaim that it was strictly partisanship that saved Donald Trump. You have to get those assholes on congressional record for their crimes.

Only a couple of days ago she said she’d leave it to the committee chairmen to decide on impeachment...

now she “Just Called For Articles of Impeachment to Be Drafted”

Have we inherited a mentally deranged ‘person’ to be third in line for the presidency???

Even if McConnell does dismiss the case, the Dems/Pelosi have indicated that they will re-issue Articles again and again, while they hold the House and Trump occupies the Oval Office.

Expanding that, even if they did get Trump removed, they likely would go after Pence.

If they win once, this becomes a no-ending scenario as long as they hold the House.

My preference would be for Trump to delegate what little defense is needed to refute these ridiculous charges to subordinates and surrogates.

Trump needs to get on offense, expose dem corruption and clearly communicate what he has done for average families over the last three years. He needs to just keep focused on what he has been doing and avoid this dem trap of getting sucked into a perpetual defensive posture over the next year.

Johnathan Turley testifying under oath in the Senate trial would be devastating to the Dems.

Trump's team should also be able to get 'discovery'. That would open the Dems up to all kinds of problems.

This can of worms could end up hurting the Dems more than it would hurt Trump.

Nope,no “trial” in the Senate...there’s “insufficient evidence” to proceed. Let Attorney General Barr’s report be the President’s rebuttal to the charges lodged against him.

My prediction...the senate will cave to the mediaVOMITS, they are deadly scared chitless of the mediapukes, antifa harassment, death threats etc....the republicans never have had nerves of steel in the past and won’t have them now! Today should’ve been the call to war to our base from the hill republicans instead crickets from the senate majority class! Sad! This tells me how much they despise Trump, and how easily they will fold to the pressure poured on them by mediapukes! The demonKKKrats have broken ALL THE RULES it time for our side to do the same! Honestly folks, I was waiting patiently thinking the senate would come out guns of blazing sometime today only to be disappointed once again!!

All this could have been avoided if republicans including the President had done the right thing and prosecuted the obama criminals.

Hillary and Comey should have been prosecuted over two years ago. Hillary destroyed evidence under congressional subpeona. No one wants to admit this was a clear cut cake walk prosecution for obstruction of justice. Comey admitted leaking classified information for the purpose of forcing a special prosecutor, he should still be prosecuted.

Not holding Democrats accountable for criminal acts is what has gotten us to where we are.

The President and the American People are now paying the price.

If the Senate DOES just dismiss it, that would put the end to, what that idiot congressman Green, who says they can impeach many, many times.

THAT WOULD BE UNBEARABLE.
