Ken Starr says Pelosi engaging in 'abuse of power' and Senate may have to dismiss impeachment case
Fox News ^ | December 5,2019 | Nick Givas

He noted that 31 Democrats supported the Bill Clinton impeachment inquiry and in the case of Richard Nixon, he was facing a united House of Representatives before he resigned.

"Just the opposite of what we're experiencing now. A strict party-line vote," said Starr, adding that Pelosi is acting to achieve her desired political outcome.

"I think this may lead to a [Senate] motion to dismiss, which I don't favor. If the House of Representatives says we're going to impeach, then the Senate should hold a trial. But I think this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. And that Republicans in the Senate just rise up in righteous indignation and say, 'this is absolutely unacceptable.'"

Total scam. It could end up being a ‘rolling’ impeachment. Schiffty hasn’t shut down his phone record trolling yet. Could be a long haul.

Yup. Stretch it out for a few months. Warren, Booker and Klobuchar would not be able to campaign. Call in about a thousand witnesses and have them share their feelings and presumptions.

“”I think this may lead to a [Senate] motion to dismiss, which I don’t favor”

I do. This charade doesn’t warrant a trial. Outright dismissal would be great but McConnell is not going to do that. There will be a trial and the Senate RINOs will expend the absolute bare minimum effort to defend Trump.

Rush Limbaugh pointed out that Nanzi let the game slip this morning when her head exploded over the "Hate Trump" truther James Rosen calling her out:

Pelosi: "This isn't about Ukraine, this is about Russia."

Time to make this hashtag trend on Twitter.

Maybe but we miss a chance to cross examination of the crap they presented. If (a big IF) the turtle ran a true hardass case, we burn the Dems down. My wish, not what I think will happen. If they dismiss the Dems will use it as a talking point for a dodge. We are at war get with it.

No. I don’t want the dems to weasel out of this by a technicality. These POS need to be publicly SHAMED and polically eviscerated. I want to see Schiff’s eyes pop out of his demented head. I want to see Pelosi’s teeth fall out and hit the floor as she’s begging for a do-over. Is it too much to ask for after everything they’ve put this country through?

Yup, Vendome. Let’s make this the full break of the dam protecting the swamp...all of it.
The scope of the articles of impeachment cannot be made narrow enough to leave out anyone or anything, or they will be far too narrow even for the jaded, blinded dhimmicraps.
Time for the Senate pubbies to man-up, and take this fight to it’s full run; and, spare NO ONE the light of truth.

Graham has already said there won’t be a trial if they can’t get the whistleblower to testify. Graham also said he will call on Schiff to testify. What I don’t know is if Schiff can me compelled to testify via subpoena. Will the Senate subpoena Schiff or any other Congresscritter? I seriously doubt it. They know they’re all corrupt and many know where their opponents are vulnerable. Besides, I’m not sure if a member of Congress is subject to the same laws as we are. I did a little searching on that, but was unable to find an answer.

Can anyone think of an inquiry where a member of congress was compelled to testify in front of a congressional committee? I can’t.

We all would like for this ridiculous crap and their shenanigans to be over. But if the Senate dismisses it and says they aren’t going to hold a trial, then that will be the Dem talking point from now to the election. “Trump’s allies in the Senate are protecting him and obstructing justice. We were RIGHT to impeach him, but the Senate refuses to do its Constitutional duty.”

That would be a disaster and a good chunk of the brain-dead electorate that doesn’t follow any of this would say “Hmm, they are right. Trump’s a crooked lying crook. I better vote against him.”

Dismissal is the justification for the next “impeachment investigation.”
The only way this is a win is if it goes to a very public and fair senate trial.

If the Senate lends legitimacy to this charade, it is complicit. This should be dismissed immediately as the insult and ambush to the nation it is.

Why would it matter if they are proven what they are, again. The media will defend them and cover it up.

The thugs will reconvene and start planning another hoax.

I doubt the Senate dismisses based on some theory of procedural or partisan defect. Comity between the chambers, neither peeks behind the curtain of the other. If the articles come over, a motion to dismiss will be handled on a fact basis, not a process basis - and introduction of fact comes in the trial, not before it.
