To think I can now build a personal computer that sits on my desk at home and it has more compute power and storage than the first Data Center I managed and operated. It’s mind boggling.
The latest computer build is an AMD 3950X, 64 Gb of memory and 10TB of storage. Far more compute than I need, for now. Gotta love technology and Moore’s Law.

Saw that today on Wikipedia. Indicates the actual text was from a 100BCE speech by Cicero with some words edited out and changed.
Reportedly used by graphics and html authors to test fonts and paragraph presentation as a placeholder.
Of course, mine changed today and when run through a special translation decrypto routine, a wonderful way to communicate using the policy that the Future proves the Past.
Now we all can determine when they are going to arrest HTC. <;^0

In a previous life I spent many, many hours siting in front of a terminal like that. Wang was a heck of a good system.

Exactly....dummy text for page layouts.
Back in the stone age before WYSIWYG computer programs we used LetraSet rub on letters for page layout mockups, empty blocks for photos or art work, and dummy text blocks... the sheets were available in various font sizes...ah the golden days of literal cut and paste jobs.

To think I can now build a personal computer that sits on my desk at home and it has more compute power and storage than the first Data Center I managed and operated. Its mind boggling. I was in the computer business for 45+ years so I've always been interested in the history and evolution of the business.
Back in the late 70s I took my family to DC and the Technology and Science rooms of the Smithsonian and we literally "walked through" the first large scale computer the "Eniac I" complete with vacuum tubes and mechanical switches.
They have a replica of a moth caught in a switch which was the genesis of the term, "There's a bug in the computer program".
That computer filled several rooms and there is more power in the average phone than in that entire complex.

No more change!
Put it back!
I mean, seriously. Connect the dots, people. We were living all comfy warm in caves like normal people but then we had to listen to that “change is good! lets build houses!” and the next thing you know, we’ve got feminists, commies and jihadiscum!
Change is bad.
