Stephen Miller is one of President Trump's most effective and loyal White House advisors.
He's competent, and he gets a lot done on the immigration front, an area that's unusually difficult to navigate politically, with Democrats dead set against any borders or rule of law, a leftist establishment that continuously uses the courts to render rule of law at the border meaningless, and a public susceptible to the media's migrant sob stories as their argument for ending any border laws. Even the clergy piles on in favor of the lawbreaking.
Now that Trump is poised for what appears to be a victory for rule of law in the Supreme Court on the matter of ending DACA, the long knives are coming out for Miller. They've been out before, they're really out now.
It's little more than a disguised smear campaign, and you can tell by the timing.
A fired and disgruntled Breitbart reporter named Katie McHugh, has apparently leaked emails she got from Miller to the Southern Poverty Law Center's "Hatewatch" site and now a big bid to paint Miller as a "white supremacist" is in the works.
Apparently, Miller forwarded some dodgy websites (the content of which is unknown, it could have easily been a mainstream press item or some link to American Thinker for instance) and gave his opinion to the reporters about what he'd like to see in print. This happened several years ago. But now it's crawling out of the woodwork now with such timing. Hit job? You decide.
Obama administration spinmeister Ben Rhodes has already been caught in the act of trying to orchestrate a hit on Miller earlier.
Yet assuming that's true, it's hardly a firing offense. It may not be lovely, but Miller was hardly doing something that leftists don't ordinarily do themselves.

If the Supreme Court upholds the clearly illegal DACA, then the rule of law is undeniably dead.
What side does Roberts come down on. What a silly system. The whole country has to wait until the day before the SC holidays to find out what’s right. Utter nonsense. Why can’t they rule tomorrow? I would guess Roberts goes against Trump on this one because he a political tool in the end.
Roberts is compromised and will cave.
Now that Trump is poised for what appears to be a victory for rule of law in the Supreme Court on the matter of ending DACA
Does the headline match the body? I think they contradict. But perhaps I need more coffee.
“What they want is to deprive Trump of his most loyal, able, and effective team members.”
If any lessons should be learned from past dealings with the Supremes, never count your chickens before they hatch!!
The left has a full time campaign destroying Trump’s effective staff, while getting into place deep state moles.
I expect Roberts to find a way to screw us. Roberts smacked down AZ for enforcing Federal law. He’s the left’s not so secret weapon.
Some people are just too trusting of John Roberts. Hence, the optimistic headline.
That and to send a clear message that they will ruin anyone who provides service to Trump. Trying to wither him on the vine by lack of quality advice.
DACA is a. ...........Tax!
Trump won’t pass amnesty.
Trump values loyalty and he returns it. He sees what the Left does to the people who help him. Payback is coming, and it’s going to be fierce.
Maybe Roberts doesn’t want to end up like Scalia or Epstein or Seth Rich or . . .
“Now that Trump is poised for what appears to be a victory for rule of law in the Supreme Court on the matter of ending DACA.”
Can someone please explain to me, how this guy knows that the SCOTUS will uphold Trump’s authority to dissolve DACA?
Or, do I misunderstand the article, ie that DACA will NOT be dissolved?
Obama must have said it 100 times....that immigration is Congresses job and he would be willing to accept changes piecemeal.
You would hope that the President would figure out by now that if the press praises someone in his administration, that person should be fired, and if they attack someone in his administration, that person should be promoted.
With Roberts on the court we can never be sure what they will do.
He has become the new “Swing” vote.
I would not bet on that victory, I’m sure that Roberts is worried about how he will be treated at the next cocktail party.
