I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
R.I.P. An honorable man, veteran, and FReeper.
I am so sorry to hear this. 2ndDivisionVet was one of FR’s best contributors, IMO.
RIP, sad to hear this.
I had no idea that he was ill. My very last post was to him yesterday, and he was a very frequent correspondent of mine. I am very saddened by this unexpected news, and I will pray for his family.
RIP Soldier. You will be missed 2ndDivisionVet.

Shocked and saddened. Enjoyed sparring with him as he often took a contrarian position with his interesting choices of articles he posted. RIP and my condolences to his family. He will be missed.
Dear 2DV,
Since you are celebrating Vets Day with the Good Lord, please put in a special word for all of us down here still struggling on our way home !
RIP 2DV
May the Lord grant the repose of his soul and comfort his family. May they all be reunited together again with Him in Heaven forever.
Til Valhalla, my brother!
Never had the pleasure except through his posts here. He will be missed.
Please give condolences to the family for me.
When I day, at St Peters Gate this story I will tell. I deserve to go to Heaven Lord, I spent my time in Hell. Guard those Streets of Gold, we’ll all see you one day.
Prayers for the Family, at this Hell on Earth time.
So sorry that you have lost a good buddy.
Sad mess works too.
Wow, sorry to hear about this.
