Drug cartels ambushed and murdered a number of Americans, mothers and their infant children, in northern Mexico yesterday.
A vehicle belonging to members of a Mormon family and traveling north through the Mexican state of Sonora was riddled with bullets and burned. They were reportedly on their way to a wedding in the United States as part of a family caravan. Rhonita Maria LeBaron was killed, along side her twin babies and two other children. Christina Langford Johnson, Dawna Langford and two of her children were also murdered in a separate attack. During and after the ambush, other children escaped and reportedly hid on the side of the road as their relatives were massacred.
Lafe Langford Jr., Dawna's nephew, posted video of the vehicle on Facebook and pleaded for help.
"To the citizens of the United States Of America, Mexico and to HUMAN BEINGS across the world....THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY THAT IS HAPPENING NOW..NEW DETAILS ARE ARRIVING BY THE SECOND....THIS IS ONGOING. AS OF NOVEMBER 4TH 7:00 PM CENTRAL TIME.....it is with heavy hearts and unspeakable sadness we inform you that the 2 missing Mothers Christina Langford and Dawna Langford along with many of their precious INNOCENT children have been slaughtered and gone to their Rest. We've had no help from the powers and authorities that be as of yet ....one of the older boys escaped with 6 of his siblings and he was able to run home to La Mora Municipio Bavispe Sonora Mexico after leaving his wounded, bleeding, and bullet ridden brothers and sisters hiding behind trees from the ONGOING shootout between the cartels. Teenagers and adults have been scrambling into the mountains to find our loved ones..risking their very own lives....while help is nowhere to be found... GOD HELP US IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY," he wrote. "Attention all of the World. We are a community of US citizens that live and operate between Mexico and the United States we are under attack as we speak by the cartels in Mexico... We have been petitioning the American embassies in Mexico all day long to no Avail... we need this to be shared and the whole world to witness the atrocious inhumane and barbaric acts that were committed against us today, Rhonita Miller and her 4 children were shot up and burned to death in this vehicle and at this very moment there are TWO more suburbans with 2 of our families totaling 2 wives and 10 children that are missing and/or kidnapped by the cartel..... We need help immediately!!"
More from the Daily Mail:
In last night’s massacre, Rhonita Maria LeBaron was traveling to Phoenix when her car broke down, according to relatives.
Gunmen opened fire and torched her vehicle causing the gas tank to explode where she died along with her twin six-month-old babies, Titus and Tiana and two more of her children Krystal, 10, and Howard, 12.
Eight miles ahead, Christina Langford Johnson, 31, Dawna Ray Langford, 43, and two of Dawna's children, Trevor, 11, and Rogan, 3, were also killed in other SUVs. Other family members are still unaccounted for.
Mexican authorities have confirmed the deaths of at least five people and have launched an investigation. Early reports and community members say nine people were killed or are missing.
For more than a decade, Colonia LeBaron in Chihuahua has managed to survive in a region engulfed by the drug war. Today, at least 7 members of this Mormon colony were killed & burned in neighboring Sonora (3 women, 7 children) Others are disappeared. Most are dual US/MX citizens https://t.co/IRqnZ3VUcu— José Díaz-Briseño (@diazbriseno) November 5, 2019
The U.S. Embassy in Mexico has not released a statement.
Perhaps you should clearly explain just what was the “indisputable criminal activity of this particular group across the century it had been in Mexico”. Are you saying these Mormons were a rival criminal organization to the drug cartels? Whatever their actions were it is doubtful they competed with the cartels. The issue is that this was a cultural intrusion by a distinct group that maintained its own identity into an endemic alien culture that sparked barbaric violence. It has happened throughout the world and throughout recorded history.
Perhaps instead of just trying to argue with me, you should be reading all of the threads on this topic and pay attention to the background information other posters are providing.
This family was targeted specifically, this is no general attack on the many Mormons who live in this part of Mexico.
There is evidently a damned good reason a reason for that.
Not our circus, not our monkeys.
Pssh. I say we should just invade Mehico and kill all drug cartel members in the process.
The Monkeys part is what is getting under my skin here. The media is trying to sell this as if these “Americans” were on a shopping trip. I don’t see where the word “American” has any business in the story.
The drug cartels of Mexico and Latin America are primarily finance by irresponsible Americans who think “it’s widit” and socially acceptable to use their drugs. A free society can only last as long as it creates a responsible citizenry. It will take more than a wall.
Translation: We don't want to pay U.S. taxes or be subject to American law but when we're attacked by the corrupt, godless savages we've chosen to live among we feel entitled to the protection of American might.
“Whenever a preaching missionary enters an alien culture, there is inherent danger.”
This is a CULT. A cult with deep roots in murder (I’m not kidding) and polygamy. Here’s just one example of both: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rena_Chynoweth
Several days ago there was a gun fight between illegals and a BP Agent. The Agent killed the shooter. Very little info released. However, the aspect of retaliation for this shooting is surely being addressed by investigators. Perhaps the deceased was employed by the Cartel?
lol
They had mexican american citizenship and are fundamentalist
LDS seems like odd background as the story unfolds.
D&C 132 is STILL scripture, no matter what Wilford has agreed to do
oh no....these expats think their shinola doesn’t stink and everything is just peaches and cream in these Latin American countries...violence is so bad here in America and there is hardly any violence in Mexico except for the thousands of murders...
