Brexit Party candidate stands down after saying she came from a star

A Brexit Party candidate has stood down after allegedly claiming that she ‘came from a star’ and believes world governments are working with aliens.
Jill Hughes was confirmed as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Brexit Party in the Batley and Spen constituency in October.
However, after Hope Not Hate looked into Brexit Party candidates’ backgrounds, the campaign group revealed that the ex-banker had a number of unusual beliefs.
The Brexit Party confirmed to The Yorkshire Post that Hughes had stood down last week after the Hope Not Hate report came out on October 31.
In comments posted on social media in 2017, Hughes allegedly said: ‘I have just come to truly realise that my purpose is to raise consciousness here on earth – I originated from Sirus.’
