There are many sound arguments about why the U.S. should not have withdrawn its modest presence. But the notion that the pullout empowers Tehran is belied by its leaders’ expressions of anxiety. The Middle East rarely offers a respite to ambitious nations, even Iran.

Summary; Iran was basking in a cheap expansion of power as the US fought its enemy ISIS and they got friendly with both Assad and the Kurds. Now they have heat from Turkey (they warned Turkey not to go in), Assad, and face rebellion in Iraq.
Not to mention - foriegn adventures are expensive and Iran’s economy is a mess.
The plan by the terrorists and Iran (among others) was to defeat America by tying us down in expensive and bloody tarbaby wars, some of them even said so.
Only Trump and the anti-war conservatives have been wise enough to not cooperate with our own defeat, everyone else let pride or the interests of the MIC get in the way.
And of course some were traitors (or infiltrators) who were working with our enemies to destroy America.
All I know is we make FBICIADOJSWAMP, Graham, Dems mad by doing it, so, that is good, unfortunately.

Syria been a Russian Client state since the 1950s. We weren’t there fighting Isis. We were running guns from Libya to Syria to “arm the freedom fighters” and topple Assad. It was “regime change” again.

Ever wonder why the O regime did nothing to stop ISIS selling oil out of Syria? Why the 0’s regimes rules of engagement specifically prevents bombing oil shipments or oil wells? It wasn’t until Trump brought it up at a 2015 debate that O was forced to take action. That what broke ISIS back, not some 50 guys hanging out with the Kurds.
Remember all the bombast at the 2015 debates where both Democrat, and Republican, candidates where trying to out macho each other on a No Fly Zone against Russia in Syria? If any of that “thinking” had been made policy we would of been in a shooting war with Russia over Syria now.
Trump is trying to clean up the mess Bush 1-Clinton-Bush 2 and Obama created.
Frankly I prefer Trump’s attempts to return to the pre Bush family traditional US policy.
Bush the 1st made a massive mistake ending our “Over the Horizon” posture in the ME. By failing to decisively win Desert Storm in 1991 Bush locked us in a full body hug with the Middle East tar-baby ever since. We been fighting in the area almost 30 years now because of that disastrous mistake

To insure the free flow of oil at market prices until such a time as the US could become energy independent and an energy exporter capable of insuring our western allies would have a reliable energy supplier should the Soviet Union Russians and their client states cut off the supply.
To make money flow. Tax money is the easy money to steal. Have a war, and the security state has its imperative to spend tax money. Once the money flows, those who sit at the controls gety to skim a fee.
It's like the scam the banks and colleges run. When applying for FAFSA college grants and loans, suckers need to borrow from the banks to renovate their homes to show. The banks get the borrowing going to make the money flow so they can collect fees. Parents deplete their savings and students go into debt. It's the same scam to send our children to fight wars on behalf of others.
Bush took us to war to save a despotic kingdom from a despotic dictator. Despotism is the rule in Islamic lands. It got us 911 and more endless intervention. It wasn't a mistake in the minds of Bush and the deep state. It makes the war money flow and the fake patriot act security grow.

That’s one step towards bringing them home, he took them out of an active war zone and avoided a war with Turkey.
We are now occupying that much less foreign territory.
Trump can’t bring all the troops home all at once or the warmongers will join the impeachment and throw him out before any of the troops get home.
