As just one example, how much would it be worth to a hedge fund manager trading $billions, to have even a few hours “heads up” on some impending regulation, or news of some foreign development?
One way to reduce the power of the Deep State is to end life-long government employment. If government officials got replaced with each change of administration, it would be harder to accumulate connections.

Following the money given to Ukraine for military goods is a perfect example of how the Deep State works. Ukraine receives munitions the military industrialists choose to sell them, not what they need. The money flows out of the government into the pockets of industrialists who in effect write the purchase order.
In this light it becomes obvious that cleaning up the government is only half the job.
