News that Washington didnt tell Ukraine it was delaying aid until a month after Trumps phone call punches a gaping hole in Democrats impeachment case. BuzzFeed reported Wednesday that Ukraine's Zelensky believed $391M in military funding was already headed to Kiev when he chatted with Trump in August.
Dems charge the prez held up the money to pressure Zelensky to probe Joe Biden and his son. Hard to see how that works when Zelensky didnt know about the holdup.
This follows that several of the whistleblowers other claims about that call arent borne out by the transcript. Speaker Pelosi and Intel Committee Schiff continue to claim Trump undermined national security and was grounds for impeachment. Look at the sequencing, urged Pelosi. A few days before the call, Trump withdrew the aid. Why? He decided he was going to use [it] as leverage.
Uh, so why didnt he?
There was no mention of the aid during (or before) the call, and Zelensky says he felt no pressure. Nor is there any evidence he acted on any fear. And the funds got released last month without Zelensky giving Trump what Democrats say he supposedly wanted.
The case grew fishier after NYT reported the (eventual) whistleblower first consulted with a Schiff aide, who suggested he file a complaint and also briefed Schiff on the broad allegations.
....this is starting to look as meatless as the Russian collusion tale. Which may be why Schiff is warning that any resistance to Congress demands for testimony or documents counts as evidence of obstruction of justice, and another impeachment charge.
Team Trump has every right to resist ..... pushback is not obstruction. And trying to use it for impeachment only suggests, as in Russia-gate, its the best youve got.

I think the FBI and CIA need to be disbanded and everyone who has worked for them should be declared ineligible for further government employment.
I see them both like Hitler’s SS — a criminal organization and everyone in there is a criminal. There are no “good guys”.
The whistleblower used cutouts to get around national security rules.
It is ballots not bullets at this point. I challenge every Freeper to get 3 people to vote w/ them in Nov
When has a charge of obstruction, for defending the Executive branch, ever been successfully argued in a Senate impeachment trial? Schiff throwing out threats is a tactic to intimidate witnesses.

Uh , Liz, the members of the Intelligence Community are under a different section of the law and due to the classified nature of intelligence work are not permitted to use the OSC Whistleblower Office. They must go through the Intelligence Community Whistleblower law which requires they make their complaint to the Intelligence Community Inspector Generals Office. . . using the regulations and forms provided. If they want to take it further, after not getting satisfaction, their recourse is to go to the House or Senate Intelligence Oversight Committees, either approaching a member or professional staff person. This is statutory. . . but they must first go through proper channels due to the sensitive nature of their work.
Oh please........these people make their own rules...... and laws are only for the “little people.”
