Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today.
None of the apocalyptic predictions with due dates as of today have come true.
What follows is a collection of notably wild predictions from notable people in government and science.
More than merely spotlighting the failed predictions, this collection shows that the makers of failed apocalyptic predictions often are individuals holding respected positions in government and science.
While such predictions have been and continue to be enthusiastically reported by a media eager for sensational headlines, the failures are typically not revisited.

Gas hydrate dissociation off Svalbard induced by isostatic rebound rather than global warming
Abstract
Methane seepage from the upper continental slopes of Western Svalbard has previously been attributed to gas hydrate dissociation induced by anthropogenic warming of ambient bottom waters. Here we show that sediment cores drilled off Prins Karls Foreland contain freshwater from dissociating hydrates. However, our modeling indicates that the observed pore water freshening began around 8 ka BP when the rate of isostatic uplift outpaced eustatic sea-level rise. The resultant local shallowing and lowering of hydrostatic pressure forced gas hydrate dissociation and dissolved chloride depletions consistent with our geochemical analysis. Hence, we propose that hydrate dissociation was triggered by postglacial isostatic rebound rather than anthropogenic warming. Furthermore, we show that methane fluxes from dissociating hydrates were considerably smaller than present methane seepage rates implying that gas hydrates were not a major source of methane to the oceans, but rather acted as a dynamic seal, regulating methane release from deep geological reservoirs.

Wish there was a way this could put this in book form and handed out free to high school students.
Someone needs to counter the insanity from the left. It's nice you love your family and niece enough to help them...
So called teachers are among the worst at spreading global warming lies and terror to their captive child audiences... terrifying children withe this crap should be considered a form of child abuse.
I’m concerned silly ‘teachers’ pushing these mega scare stories on to young children is one of te reasons for school shootings...
If all these shootings were happening at Amazon NOT AT SCHOOLS) the press (stupid as theY are) would question the possibility that Amazon had created a hostile work environment...
When it's ‘the schools’ - propaganda centers for left wing nuts, there not an iota of speculation beyond ‘guns’...
You grew up in a world with this delusional ‘the world is ending’ crap - I didn't. We laughed at the idiots carrying signs the ‘world is ending.’’’ Called them ‘chicken littles’. Our job is to outlaw this type of ‘teaching’... and soon.
MEGA THANKS!
Thanks for the suggestion.
I would love such a book....am looking for one.
Thanks for your reply.
Agreed!!
Good grief!
THANKS!
There is a sense of futility out there.
People are convinced our world is dying.
Mass hysteria...

I paid cash money to go see tree hugger movies
What a yutz
I was imminently inundated by people on FR who told me I was anti-education and had no idea how necessary it was that my tax dollars should go to fund such civilization enhancing programs like spending multi million dollars on a department of diversity.
People mean well, but sometimes they’re way off base.
You had it right.
Until these places get back to being something to enhance
our nation, I say cut off every dime to them.
an oldie but a great one...
YOU watched tree hugger movies? LOL
Seems our ‘intelligence’ people have been helping democrats for a long time.
Yes it does.
And wittingly or unwittingly, I think the shrink community
bears some responsibility also.
They sold the bill of goods that kids could be controlled
by medication. Evidently not so well after all.
