The US has assessed that the attack on Saudi oil facilities originated inside Iran
CNN ^ | 16 Sep 2019 | Kylie Atwood and Ryan Browne

Posted on 09/16/2019 12:17:22 PM PDT by BeauBo

The US has told at least one US ally in the Middle East, that they have intelligence showing that the launch was “likely” coming from staging grounds in Iran, but they have not shared that intelligence yet. “It is one thing to tell us, it is another thing to show us,” said a diplomat from the region.

A US official separately tells CNN that the US has assessed that the attack originated from inside Iran. The official spoke on condition of anonymity.

No public evidence has been shared.

What countries in the region decide to do, in reaction to the Saudi oil field attack, largely depends on what the US is willing to do, the source said. CNN reported earlier that Secretary of State is expected to speak with the UAE Crown Prince on Monday and other nations.

The Pentagon declined to comment. The State Department and the White House did not respond to a request for comment.

The WSJ first reported that the US was telling countries region that the attacks were launched inside Iran.

“This came from the Trump admin.”

So says CNN.

I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but knowing CNN, they’ve already spun their propaganda on the verbiage, and there’s no way I’m trusting a word those Hussein Heads.

Pretty hard to trust anything after “the Steele Dossier” and that Isikoff clown at Yahoo.

Siding with Ba’athists just to criticize US foreign policy? You’re a typical anti-Western Leftist.

BTW, have you ever been to Iraq? Dealt with Ba’athists? Lived in the Middle East? Have you ever even visited a Muslim country? Probably not. In which case you’re just an anti-American Troll divining a sense of morality from things you are completely ignorant of -as trolls do.

Iranian arms built with Chinese parts that use sanctioned US parts...
That would make it interesting!

I get the impression Iran is not happy with China’s level of support.

Taking out Kharg Island seems the best response to me. The most likely scenarios involve Iran, and to some degree China/Russia. The Iranian guidance systems historically have been unable to achieve such precision. Chances are US technology given to China by Clinton was used to improve them.

You are confusing the anti-Saudi,
Saudi subjects, who seek to overthrow the Saudi Government, with the pro-American Monarchy. That is like blaming the Romanovs for the crimes of Lenin & Trotsky; or blaming the Hohenzollerens & Hapsburgs for the crimes of Hitler & Roehm.

Just to be clear, the DSP birds looked for ICBM launches (for example).

There was talk of refining the detection capability over 30 years ago to detect cruise missiles. A lot of things have changed in 30+ years. Don’t know what current capabilities are. I can only surmise they are easily better (duh).

The launch detection systems definitely see the hot engines. Capabilities other than that are not going to be advertised. If they were boosted with a SRM, they were seen. The same system would also see the heat of impact/warhead detonation. So even without complete flight path, it would be easy to put two and two together.

Yep all capabilities will not be publish.

Just the radar (excuse me, “weather reconnaissance”) birds would easily track a flight path.

“Iranian arms built with Chinese parts”

China provides Iran with a lot of its missile capability, like the old Silkworm cruise missiles they have threatened shipping lanes with for so long.

The North Koreans and Iranians attend each others’ nuclear and missile tests, and collaborate with each other on their programs. China is behind both.

If there is credible evidence the attack originated from Iranian territory....there will be a strike on Iran. I don’t think with all that’s gone on with Iran over the last couple of years, Trump would allow an attack like this skate.

We’ll see

We sneak under radar, these missiles might have as well. Over the years our enemies have learned a few things from us. What I found interesting was the areal photos of the refinery tank punctures. All very precise.

We have Federal judges issuing injunctions to stop new pipeline projects right here in the U.S.

Waging war in some Islamic dump as a measure to control energy costs while this sh!t goes on here at home is pathetic and outrageous.

Agreed, but, what if--Devil's advocate--military action is used as a major part of a case to overcome judicial BS via some kind of "national emergency" declaration?

No clue if that's the case, if it's necessary, or legally feasible, but it makes me wonder.
