Should Elizabeth Warren do the right thing and drop out of the Democratic presidential race, so Bernie Sanders can address Joe Bidens multiple reality issues before taking on President Donald Trump?
Yes, immediately.

This is a poorly argued piece. The only reason that the give for Warren to drop out is that Bernie has "more authenticity".
Warren is arguably ahead in the polls now (RCP Average Biden in 1st 30.1% Warren in second 17.6%, Bernie in third 16.9%.
I think you can make a stronger case that Bernie should drop out.
- Bernie isn't attracting new supporters, his numbers have fallen since the start of the contest. Bernie's profile is as people who supported him in 2016 see the other candidates they peel away from supporting him.
- Warren's trajectory is up, from mid-single digits to 2nd place. Warren has the classic "unknown takes the lead" polling history.
- Simply put: Warren is on her way up, Bernie is on his way down.
- Bernie already had a shot at the nomination, and failed. His candidacy was destructive, because of the way he ran it, and hurt Hillary.
- Bernie's not a Democrat, he's an independent who's carpetbagging in the DNC primary.
- Bernie is way too old. He's within a year of Biden. So that takes the age issue off the table against Slow Joe. Warren is enough younger that she can work that issue against Joe.
- Bernie looks unpresidential. He's like the kooky professor in Back to the Future.
- Bernie doesn't have any details in anything he says. He's still ranting and raving about "millionaires and billionaires".
- Bernie is a male, and it's "time for a woman" per DNC's over-deployed talking points.
- Warren is fresher, and doesn't have as much baggage.
- Warren survived her fake Indian claims, so she proven she can handle campaign setbacks and crisis.
- Bernie had his shot, and was too weak to take out the cheating Hillary. Trump will destroy him, he senses weakness like the alpha lion finds the weak antelope.
- Bernie calls himself a Socialist. While the Dem base includes a large segment that love this stuff, it's still at best a big distraction and at worst a game-ender for millions of General Election voters.
- Bernie's personal history is undistinguished and almost pathetic. (Unemployed till 45). Americans elect "WINNERS" with heroic backstories, not schmoes.
-
- Grant won the Civil War.
- Eisenhower won WW2
- T.R. Won the Spanish American War
- Kennedy fought heroically in WW2.
- Bush Sr. fought heroically in WW2.
- LBJ was Gov of the biggest State.
- Reagan was a movie Star.
- Reagan was Gov of the 2nd biggest State.
- Bush II was governor of the biggest state.
- Trump is a self-made billionaire.
- Trump was a TV star.
- Bernie was on welfare till 45, lived off his wife

I couldn’t get it to display even after following the HTML to the source (where I could see it). Usually that fixes it.
Interesting that you could. I’m using Firefox on a Mac, you?

I'm getting the feeling that Slow, Ol' Joe may jut stagger into the nomination because the worse communists will cancel each other out. Looks like his two big hurdles are IA and NH that are loaded with over-educated white communist nitwits. Then comes mostly black SC where he looks to be really strong. After that CA and Super Tuesday with everything up for grabs. You are describing the perfect storm that gives us no clear first-round winner at the Democratic Convention in 2020.
Here are some interesting things that the Dems did in 2020 to address the cheating the deprived Bernie of the nomination in 2016, and the outrage among activist Democrats over that.
- Made the primary voting more proportional.
- No more "winner take all states", getting as little as 5% means you'll get some delegates.
- Removed the super-delegates from the first round voting.
What this means is that if the field stays fractured with no one over 30% of the vote there is no way that person (say Biden) gets anywhere near 50+1% of the votes needed for a first round nomination.
YES! We are on our way to a "brokered convention! The dream of all political junkies everywhere.
What's really going to suck for the Dems is that under their new rules if there is no first-round winner (because the "fair rules" will mean that the top 5 or 6 candidates all have some delegates, and nobody has enough to cinch the nomination: THEN in round 2 the super-delegates get to vote.
Now, no matter who they pick the majority will be disapointed, and there will be a lot of cries of "the DNC fixed the outcome AGAIN", which will be TRUE.
It doesn't matter if they go with the leader (say Joe at 30% of the delegates) that still leaves supporters represented by 70% of the delegates feeling "we were screwed".
This does open it up for the consensus outsider candidate, the two most often selected are Michelle and Ophrah.

I don’t think LBJ was ever governor of Texas. Correct me if I missed something.

It’s Clueless Joe named after Biden’s childhood Baseball hero -Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Interesting analysis.
A brokered convention. The way it used to be.
Primaries were a way to give the Media more power in the selection of Presidential candidates.

No, sorry, you are right. He was "King of the Senate" and from Texas, but never Governor. I got carried away there, thanks for catching it.
But, anyway, I think the overall point stands. American Presidents have always been larger than life characters in some dimension.
Even Nixon: he was already VP for 8 years under America's most beloved President, he was famous for attacking Communists early in his career, even in the 1960s many people (my Dad, for instance) always said that Nixon had been robbed by JFK cheating in 1960. He was already tragic from earlier scandals, so even he was larger than life.
Bernie is nothing. He's a ranting little beta-male.

Why would Warren drop out when (if anyone) it should be Bernie? Dems arent going to get to hyped up for an old white guy (Biden or Bernie). Plus Bernie took a dive last time ...he doesnt have winning spirit

You are correct. LBJ was never Governor of Texas. However, he was the Senate Majority leader, and the VP to John F. Kennedy. Eventually he became President with the death of JFK.

Writer can dream on. PsychoJawea is not getting out.
Next we will hear that she’s the second least crazy Democrat.
Hell, the no-hopers won’t get out yet, you think Lizzy is going to quit? She thinks she’s got it in the bag once Biden faints dead away during a speech.

“Now, no matter who they pick the majority will be disapointed, and there will be a lot of cries of “the DNC fixed the outcome AGAIN”, which will be TRUE.”
Most voters labor under the misconception that they are in charge of nominating candidates. But the parties are in charge, and don’t even have to have primary votes. They can simply announce their candidates.
