LONDON The governing Conservative party lost its majority today as one of its MPs defected to join the anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats.
Phillip Lee sat on the opposition benches on Tuesday as Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood to deliver a statement in the House of Commons. The move increases pressure on Johnson, whose majority was already looking shaky, but does not automatically trigger an election because that would require a separate vote.

And what was Phillip Lee offered for this betrayal? There are oceans of influence and money available to sellout the British people.

I’m pretty sure that a substantial portion of the Tories went wobbly before I was born—and I’m almost 50.
If Boris can purge them, get an election called, and win, we will have witnessed a miracle.

I hate to be the pessimist of the bunch but Boris is gonna get ####ed by more people.
And the British people will get ####ed the most in the end.
Kinda disgusted with that country at this point.
At least a lot of the powers that be.

Confusing from an American perspective.
It looks like one step forward, followed by three steps backward. Perhaps this partially explains Theresa May’s situation.

Conservatives still hold 310 seats out of 650 in Parliament. How does losing one seat lose his majority? Johnson had a coalition before, he should still have it shouldn’t he?

One suspects the basic ongoing problem--there as here--are school systems that do not identify with the ongoing continuity of a nation, community or even family aspirations. The West has lost any sense of natural--as opposed to Leftist fantasy--purpose.
The lack of a sense of ongoing national purpose is poisoning all the foundations of heritage.
