(QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY) -- If the 2020 presidential election were held today, 54 percent of registered voters say that they would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden, while only 38 percent would vote for President Trump. Matchups against other top Democrats show:
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders topping Trump 53 - 39 percent;Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren ahead of Trump 52 - 40 percent;California Sen. Kamala Harris beating Trump 51 - 40 percent;South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg leading with 49 percent to Trump's 40 percent.
Looking at all of the matchups, President Trump is stuck between 38 and 40 percent of the vote. These low numbers may partly be explained by a lack of support among white women, a key voting bloc that voted for Trump in the 2016 election. Today, white women go for the Democratic candidate by double digits in every scenario. Though it is a long 14 months until Election Day, Trump's vulnerability among this important voting group does not bode well for him.

How many Trumpsters would even take a call from a polling service? I might have back in 2016, but not today.

There is so much wrong with this. First, if most conservatives are like me, there’s no way I’m answering any poll. At first contact, I tell them nicely, go away. If they persist, I become rude.
Secondly, liberals have put so much into publicly shaming Trump supporters, that many swing voters won’t admit in public they prefer President Trump. Crusty old folks like me are more than happy to admit that preference, but that comes back to my first point.
Beat him by a bazillion points and more.

I suspect that there is some truth in these polls. After all, Hillary got almost three million more votes than Trump did in 2016. That’s a lot of votes!
But what’s really important are the Electoral College votes. I’d like to see an unbiased poll that addresses that.

Bradley effect. Take 10 pts away from the Dem and give it to PDJT; he wins handily. We’ve been called racists, white supremacists, Nazis, etc. When polled are we really going to say we support Trump?

1. Each of the Republican candidates would wipe the floor with Trump during the debates.
2. Hillary Clinton would wipe the floor with Trump in the 51 general elections and then in the one election that counts—the one in the Electoral College—right up until the morning of the 51 general elections?
Pollsters are just the polled cattle of the political class.
