'Crazy cat ladies' are not a thing, study finds

Well teaching her to sit down / “lay down” (lay down is preferred) wasn’t hard & in fact it was kind of strange I can only attribute her own intelligence (maybe being a very small tot being bottle fed) . She was running around one night going from space to space jumped up on the bed looked at me and I only said to her “Tracey, lay down” and she did. The one thing I did which is most important is using a praise voice & tone while stroking her and it didn’t take long at all.

I’ve seen those kitties on YTube who ring bells for treats but that is something totally different.

The funny part of this whole scenario is sometimes she just doesn’t want to lay down. She’ll do two thing- one is freeze in place for as long as she can and the other is a slight freeze in place and turns around & gives me a dirty look- that’s pretty funny but she does lay down-

When we lived in the cold Pocono Mountains, it was fun to see our Maine Coon's hair grow out in the winter. My "crazy" wife had 5 hats, but 4 of them were ferals. We loved those little critters. Only one left and he's very active at 18 years old.

"Obedient pets" and "cats" generally don't mix.

This is not strictly a female phenomenon. I once met a crazy cat man. He went around with a brag book full of pictures of his 15 kitties. There was something wrong with that guy.

Yes you are.
I had three cats once. Two of them were rescues and we didn’t even have to go to the pound to rescue them. They were badandoned by their mother and we found them cold, wet, and hungry in our back yard on a November afternoon.

Having three cats automatically qualified me for my crazy cat person card

At the same time, our mutual attraction to private dog packs of overlarge, often slobbery, ridiculous carnivores and private arsenals might be regarded by the uncharitable as a male equivalent of Cat Lady Syndrome.

The psych associations need to just admit that they are so screwed up themselves that they can’t distinguish mental illness verses personal choice in anyone else.
