Now they’re going to try to feed us “eggs” made from plants

Some day, hopefully long after I’ve shuffled off this mortal coil, I hope you’ll remember that I was the one who tried to warn you about this impending apocalypse. And now it’s at our doors. The socialist vegan hordes who are diligently (and successfully) working to get rid of all the cows and pigs so they can save the planet have a new target in their sights. Chickens. More specifically, they want to replace all of the eggs we eat with “eggs made from plants.” And they’re not joking. The work is already in progress. (Fox Business Network)

Impossible Foods’ Sheetal Shah on the company’s partnership with OSI Group in an effort to expand production and the company’s continued efforts to improve the quality and nutrition of its products.

Kroger is adding plant-based egg alternative Just Egg to shelves at 2,100 stores across the country, just as Canadian favorite coffee chain Tim Hortons announced it is testing Just Egg on its menu at select locations.

The product, made from mung bean protein, canola oil, onion puree and turmeric, imitates the taste and texture of real eggs. Tim Hortons joins other fast food chains that are satiating consumers’ cravings for non-animal proteins like plant-based burgers.

So these are “eggs” made from… what was that again? Mung bean protein. Boy howdy, that just makes you want to tie a bib around your neck, pick up a fork and dig in, doesn’t it? The mung bean (also known as Vigna Radiata) is an Asian legume that can apparently be modified by the mad scientists producing all of this garbage so it tastes something like eggs.

Why are they doing this? For your health? Don’t be fooled, kids. All you need to know is why they named the product JUST Egg. Their CEO is quoted as saying, “We believe a just food system starts with breakfast and our partnership with the Kroger family of stores, the largest grocery store chain in the United States, makes JUST Egg accessible to countless consumers in communities around the country,”

The “JUST” stands for “justice.” Raising and eating chickens is wrong in liberal circles and probably is causing global warming or something. (Wait… I thought that was the cow farts?) They want justice for the chickens and now they’re going to start selling fake eggs made from modified mung beans. Just lovely. (Pardon the pun.)

Three tablespoons of this Just Egg product is equivalent to one chicken egg and provides five grams of plant-based protein, according to the company. But what if I don’t want “plant-based protein?” What if I want real protein? And trust me, you’re never going to be able to make a deviled egg out of this stuff.

They’re targeting breakfast now, people. And you know what that means. Next, they’re going to be coming for the bacon. When there are no more cows, pigs or chickens and you’re living on twigs and leaves mixed in with these nightmare science experiment meals, don’t come back crying to me. I’ve been trying to warn you.

It’s the irony that’s gonna kill us.

And the food.

That "Plant based burger" is a lot less healthy then the beef one.

The more processed something is the less good it is for you. You can't get much less processed then an egg.

Sorry, but my take on veganism is that it is a form of mental illness.

You don’t want to see animals killed? Okay, sure, I get that. You don’t want milk, cheese, eggs, and a host of other products to be eaten.

Seek help! Seek it today, and quit trying to eliminate my sources of nutrition.

shh. Don’t let the secret out

I just pt 24 eggs in the incubator two days ago. Another 19 days and they should hatch. By next Spring, we’ll be getting eggs. For some reason, I don’t think most of the roosters will make it through the winter though.

That reminds me, I need to give the Cast Iron Dutch Oven a good cleaning and re-season it.

Vegetable oils are terrible for you.

I could never have it said any better. Besides if God didn’t want us to eat animals he would have never but them on earth.

I do not like carrots as a vegetable. My mother always added sugar to it when she cocked them. They were gross. I finally told her they were sweet enough without she adding sugar to it.

I liked them as a salad mixed with vinegar and oil.

To them, the greater moral good is the poor helpless animals not exploited/consumed. Never mind that sterile eggs don’t hurt the creature, so it isn’t “eating the unborn”.

Given kids with food allergies, I welcome more alternatives. That’s why we have so many dairy-free and vegetarian options in the house, though we eat steak and chicken, too. I would like a better egg substitute for baking or egg-free scrambled “eggs”.

What is wrong is the cultural oppression. Whether it is the Muslim saying I can’t eat pork so ban it from the cafeteria or the oppression of saying “I don’t like meat, meat-free only meals for everyone”.

That would be the one to keep. Looks like he’d protect the ladies pretty well. I’ve got a Great Pyrenees that will do the heavy lifting

If the manufacturers are smart, they’ll stay away from lefty buzzwords and concentrate on taste, nutritional value and price. I would have no objection to switching to a vegetable based meat substitute if it tasted good, especially if there were caloric, cholesterol and nutritional benefits. Being lectured about the cause of the week is just a big distraction and, for many of us, a turnoff.

I think it’s a great idea. We capitalists should affirm those who are exploring food options like this. Let them make their product, and then let the free market decide if it succeeds or not. If you like it, buy it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Win-win.

Mostly, I like carrots slow cooked with potatoes and a roast in gravy.

Would I try them? Yeah, Maybe once or twice. But if cost is an issue and regular eggs are cheaper (and taste better), I’ll stick with eggs.

I have paid as little as 52 cents for a dozen eggs recently at Aldi. These vegans are going to have to make eggs way more expensive through regulation to ever have a viable product based on cost.

We are told that God sanctioned the eating of meat for man.

If it’s good enough for God, I’m comfortable with it.

We should be as humane as possible. We should revere life. We should also be careful concerning waste.

We do have some responsibilities, but this is sanctioned by the ruler of the universe.

Some pinheads from Berkley don’t quite measure up.

Low Carb / Keto PING!!!

Hi people - this is another example of the Left moving in to take away people’s access to healthy food and replace it with God knows what. In this case it is the egg - perhaps the healthiest food one can buy (providing you do eat the yolk). These fake eggs are called “Just Eggs”, but as the article says, it’s short for “Justice Eggs”, as in Social Justice.

While I did intend to ping people more on articles dealing with the direct effects of going low carb, this came up and helps serve as an example of why it is so damn hard to get the big players to admit what many, if not most of you guys know - which is that a (very) low-carb lifestyle can have huge health benefits. The Left is fighting us tooth and nail on this, because it means that, well, we’ll be eating a lot more animals and they simply do not approve of that.

But I won’t flood you guys with these articles, and I think that I made the point here for now, so I’ll get more to the health-related news on the subject.

[p.s., anyone wanting to join, or leave, my Low-Carb / Keto Ping List, just let me know, privately or publicly]
