I drove the I-5 Corridor from Sacramento to Seattle last month and when I was in NorCal I had a hard time seeing what had become of the once proud and beautiful place. Trash along the highway and the roads were in bad shape and the communities I spent a good portion of my youth around are dilapidated or gone. The faming communities are looked like a something you see out of LA County. Graffiti and the demographic had clearly changed after I had moved out 20 years ago. I am concerned now living in Seattle and there are masses of these liberal mental giants moving here and already the talk of state income and city level income tax laws are in the news and in the courts. I give this state 10 years max before we are falling down the same path of implosion.

To: The people have spoken

I know 6 people from Calif that have moved to Nevada in the last 3 months. They are all very conservative and politically active.

Most people I know who have moved from Calif to another state have left because they are conservative.

Only exceptions are a few leftists who moved to Portland, Denver or Seattle

During a taxi ride across the Golden Gate Bridge (1972) I remarked about the nice homes with a view of the bridge - the cabbie said those go for around $35K, which sounded high to me at the time.

When I was a kid I got accepted to a rather elite, highly regarded university. Tuition at the time was $13,000 per year. And I had won a $1000 scholarship!

My dad looked at me and said "Congratulations! That's very nice! Now, where is the other $12,000 going to come from?"

I didn't have an answer to that question so I didn't go.

What the article doesn’t say....they are partly responsible for the liberal Tsunami that swamps California and they are bringing that way of life WITH THEM!

I have about 4.5 years until I retire. When that time comes and it can’t come soon enough, I’m getting the hell out of this state too.

Idaho awaits me.

The California loons bring their crappy politics with them. Real danger for the future of Texas.

They vote to turn good states into liberal hellholes... then leave that hellhole and do the same thing. Like a plague of locusts, liberals are.

My son and his family moved from Redwood City, CA to Reno, NV in January. They were conservatives when they moved to California, and remain so. They also moved their business to Nevada, leaving behind the anti-business climate that has infested CA.

Is there a sinister plan to “force” conservatives out of the state via high taxes, the drop the property values so illegals and countries like CHINA can buy up prime property for a song?

Not surprising. Pity the folks left behind.

Texas will be more like Florida. Florida has been a swing state for the past 20 years. Texas will be the same way starting in either 2024 or 2028.

The more that can leave before the 2020 census than the more EVs CA loses ... all the better.

Exactly right. They are like cancer and spread it whereever they go. This is not a good thing. They have already started to ruin Az and Nevada. They are too stupid to understand that they voted for what they got in CA and will again vote for the same thing in other states.

Wait until CA starts charging a tax for leaving.

Too late. That happened a year after I moved to Idaho. A sales tax on the proceeds of a home sale is exacted by the state of CA. If you purchase another house INSIDE CA, you can get the money back. If you buy outside CA, they keep the money.

I laugh at recruiters now who try to get me to move to one of these places. (CA, MA, NY, NJ, IL (Chicago))

They always say it’s a x% hike in pay for me and I always respond the same way:

It’s also a Y% (doubling what they said) hike in taxes, regulations, and crime. Plus it’s more difficult to keep my weapons.

Often now they reply sheepishly with an “I know”.

If about 10-15 million more leave, it would be great.
