British Leaks Describe Trump’s ‘Act of Diplomatic Vandalism’ on Iran Deal
Nytimes.com ^ | 7/13/19 | Benjamin Mueller

LONDON — It was just hours after Boris Johnson, then Britain’s foreign secretary, returned to London from a whirlwind trip last year to try to persuade the White House to abide by the Iran nuclear accord.

Kim Darroch, then the British ambassador to the United States, fired off a withering assessment of President Trump’s wish to quit the deal. Mr. Trump, he wrote in leaked diplomatic cables that were published on Saturday, was “set upon an act of diplomatic vandalism, seemingly for ideological and personality reasons — it was Obama’s deal.”

The vice president, the national security adviser and the secretary of state had all failed to “articulate why the president was determined to withdraw, beyond his campaign promises,” Mr. Darroch wrote. And the American government had no plan for what would follow.

“Even when you pressed,” Mr. Darroch wrote to Mr. Johnson, “none had anything much to say about the day after, or a Plan B, beyond reimposition of U.S. sanctions.”

With Iran and the United States now locked in an escalating standoff, the leaked cables offered a window into Britain’s frantic effort to save the Iran nuclear deal in May 2018 — and the Trump administration’s indifference to its entreaties.

Yes, it came to an end. He had the reverse midas touch.

Even a blind squirrel leader would have occasionally made a pro American decision.

He (Obama) felt America had become too powerful by being racist, etc., and wanted to diminish America's standing in the world. That is the reason for the apology tours outside the country. The Russians and Chinese, however, never did anything wrong in Obama's world.

Thanks to George W. Bush for involving America in a couple of endless wars and nation building fiascoes, ignoring the US economy, and making Obama electable.

Trump showed up in a town where up is down and black is white. A town where the U.S. joined a Paris accord on Climate Change which levied huge fines on the U.S. but did nothing to major polluters like Russia and China. A town where we give nuclear weapons to Iran in return for vague promises of peace. A town with highly unfair trade policies to everyone from China to Mexico.

Trump’s big crime was to put things back in it’s rightful place but his thinking went afoul of global elitists whether Democrat or Republican, whether foreign or domestic. No more Uncle Sap, thought Trump. Time for America to flex their muscles at home and abroad.

The elites wanted a metrosexual effite America that had no will and no power to do right. They had their way with Obama. They would have continued in that way with Clinton.

You have to understand this before you can understand all the venom and smears of Trump and why his base adores him so much.

Obama ever agreeing to that deal or to the Paris Agreement were acts of vandalism against American national interests. There is a reason he never submitted either to the Senate for ratification.

Trump just set things right.....ie he obliterated what Obama did.

Did anything, anything good come out of the Obama Administration? Anything?

No. I only wish Trump had walked from his Inauguration Speech into the Oval Office and signed a thousand or so executive orders undoing every single last thing Obama did. He eventually did much of that anyway but it would have been awesome to just come out with a big fat stack of ordering wiping out the stain of Obama policies all at once for the Globalist/Donkey/MSM freak out it would have caused if for nothing else.

Kerry and Obama aren’t the only ones pi$$ed.

The EU is, too. I don’t think INSTEX is working out the way the EU and Iran wanted...

Britain, with their self centered hegemony, has soiled the planet for over 200 years. The middle east, India/Pakistan, Africa, China...all indications that they do nothing but leave a world of hurt and they “fix” nothing.

Trump did far more than that.

Trump effectively cut off Iran at the knees. He caused serious loss of oil sales. He seriously disrupted their economy there by disrupting there surrogate funding. He recently had a brit capture of an Iranian tanker delivering to Syria.

Trump effctivly fight back with mines on tankers. Iran shot down aa drone a near act of war. They are at their wit’s end. They have no place to go

There was no “Iran deal” to begin with. Obama’s statesmanship made Neville Chamberlain look like Churchill. Trying to undo the damage done by the globalists is a matter of national survival.
