There’s a viral video making its way around Twitter this weekend that shows NFL star QB Can Newtown offering a man $1500 for his seat that has more legroom with the unidentified man turning down the generous offer. Have a watch:

Exactly. Nobody should be allowed to pressure a fellow passenger for any reason. Maybe Cam should have asked a flight attendant to put out a cash offer for a bulkhead seat to the whole airplane and let someone amenable come forward.

If Mr. Newton want’s extra legroom, he’s certainly free to anticipate that need himself, rather than exposing his exquisite sensibilities to the likes of white people who did precisely that and are uninterested in impromptu offers of cash to change seats.
Perhaps Mr. Newton should consider this going forward.
Cam Newton, the best hundred grand Auburn ever spent.

I always fly first class.
My comfort means a lot to me. I will NOT sell my comfort.
No check’s for me.
All too often right and famous never pay their bill.
Why didn’t he have the cabin crew make an announcement that $1,500 is waiting for the first person to give up his seat. . .most airlines only offer a couple hundred or a voucher of some sort.
I know the value of a dollar and only fly first class for domestic and business for international. It is more than comfort, it is peace and quiet, better treatment by cabin crew and hardly any bratty noisy and spoiled kids.
It is worth the dollars I spend to be comfortable.
Maybe he didn’t want to sell it to someone who laughs at woman reporters talking about routes.
I’m sure he upgrades on longer International Flights.
I think he was talking about short Domestic Flights. He obviously didn’t see the value in paying so much for sitting in a Seat for four hours. He also didn’t Drink, so the complimentary Booze in First Class would have been wasted on him.
The point I was making is even though he came from a Wealthy Family, he was not one to waste money. He was a hard working driven guy even though he could have just skated through Life. In my day, that was considered a good character trait.
