One of the biggest questions surrounding the most recent known spate of UFO encounters with U.S. Navy pilotsthose that occurred off the southeastern seaboard of the United States between 2014 and early 2015pertains to how persistent they actually were. We know Super Hornet aircrews from Strike Fighter Squadron 11 (VFA-11), the Red Rippers, detected unknown objects multiple times on radar and one aircrew even had a close encounter visually with one of them, but what about the rest of the many Hornet squadrons based at Naval Air Station Oceana, not to mention the E-2 Hawkeye squadrons from nearby NAS Norfolk? We have the answer to this question and it is remarkable.
A source with knowledge of the events has made it clear to The War Zone that presence of the mysterious objects in the restricted training airspace off America's east coast was so pervasive that it was largely common knowledge among local flying units. They noted that the majority of the Super Hornet squadrons equipped with AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radarsyou can read all about this technology and how it was key in detecting these objects in our exclusive piece on the subjectat the time were having the same experiences, as well as the crews flying the new E-2D Hawkeye with its incredibly powerful AN/APY-9 radar suite. It literally became such a common and near everyday occurrence that Naval Aviators and Naval Flight Officers from the base would talk about it informally with regularity.
But that doesn't mean formal action wasn't taken. Beyond filing an official safety report after one of the jets almost hit one of the unidentified objectsdescribed eerily as a translucent sphere with a cube structure suspended inside of itNotices To Airman (NOTAMs) were posted regarding the dangers potentially posed by unknown aerial vehicles flying in the same military operating areas that aircraft from NAS Oceana frequented for training. This action was taken by the base's command leadership as they couldn't figure out how else to address the bizarre issue and its perceived threat to their aircrews' safety.
We have since filed Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests for copies of these NOTAMs, as well as documents regarding how the decision to file the NOTAMs was made at the command level.

That was my thought also, clickbait promoting a new History Channel series, theres’ money in thar hills (UAPs)
Also why are we only hearing from the Navy, what about the Air Force, they have no reports?
Or, at least, if the ill intent required immediate action on their part, something would have happened. They might be grooming us for some longer term purpose (like dinner;-))
I'm not a trusting sort, so if there is something other than just enemy-developed craft involved, I am suspicious as to motive.
And, if it is enemy craft, we are possibly in worse trouble.
Give me back my space modulator! You are making me very angry!
I was following along and then you said congress. Congress needs to focus on the border.. they are just using this as an excuse. How convenient.
Military tech clearly has limitations.. they can’t even get warships through shipping lanes.
Think about the generation of pilots we have now... they have been shooting aliens in video games, maybe a little obama cocaine in college.
Stop wasting time on fantasies and get back to work congress.
I know they want to deep fake folks onto believing this absudity.. and i know why.
Soooo.... With all the sensors on naval aircraft, do we have anything better than blurry photos?
Men are obsessed with cleavage. It doesn’t matter how many times we’ve seen these things. Every time these objects are presented to us, we have to look. We cannot not look. To men, cleavage is like the nearest thing to a nearby UFO landing. That’s what it is.
I watched one of these last week. There was a full SIX SECONDS of actual UFO footage and 30 minutes (sans commercials) of interviews with pilots and, most important minutes of footage inside the F-18s.
The question is why?
Is the military (in this case DOD and the Navy) telling us we have develop such craft? Er, no. That makes absolutely no sense.
Are they telling us our enemies have developed such craft? Again, makes no sense.
So, what are they telling us?
I agree. There has been a tremendous increase in talk of UFOs. There has to be a reason.
Some people make the case that new radar systems give some false output, so unidentifiable stuff shows up. Okay. I don’t doubt it. But that’s not interesting. That’s not front page stuff.
I can’t guess at the reason, but I think something’s up.
UFO = WTF
Without a visual, I’m not impressed with electrical ‘blimps”
Atmospheric conditions, along with new or updated technology can be uncommon but real situation giving “false positives”.
Tell me when they find a chunk of metal or technology that cannot be explained and I’m listening.
Do you have the Super Q-36 explosive model?
We did that in the 50's.
Lost a lot of planes and pilots.
If it were an enemy craft (Russia, China, Nazis from Antartica) I think our folks would have been told to engage. But that hasn’t happened.
With skunkworks usually 10-15 years ahead of traditional technology in the past, it would not shock me to know that they figured out some high tech, magneto drive propulsion.
I am more interested than concerned. If it ain’t us...there is little you and I can do about it. Until then, I will keep reading and watching to see what we can see.
I’ve been suspicious from day 1. Is it a prelude to disclosure of some new technology or is it truly - “other worldly”?
Perhaps we are testing out some holographic technology to confuse radar? There seems to be less visual confirmation - most being seen on the display and not with the naked eye. That being said - my own experiences seeing a few unidentifieds go back to the 60’s - when I was a kid and no one had yet dreamed of this sort of technology.
To your point - it’s a little too convenient.
Why do you think they are telling “us.” If it were me, and there was a ton of bragging going on about “hypersonic” missiles from my enemies, how would you go about telling them, “Your missiles are cute...” without telling them you can just shoot them out of the sky.
The US is not telling “us”. They are telling our enemies.
He can't bring himself to just blurt it out so he just talks around it to condition Dad for the big reveal.
He might even get his mom to remind dad of that time when something similar happened to the car...and it all turned out fine (in this case the DOD and Navy are using the History Channel like the kid got his mom to help).
Must be a slow news day for the media. An awful lot of focus on this UFO crap. Kind of like the focus on Nancy Reagan’s astrology...
