One of the indescribable aspects of being a member of a minority group is knowing that things are better than they have ever been and, simultaneously, not good enough.
The LGBTQ community has won the right to same-sex marriage and achieved unprecedented visibility in politics, media and entertainment. Yet we still lag far behind the straight and cis population when it comes to mental health, substance abuse and HIV rates.
Travis Salway is an epidemiologist trying to close this gap. In 2014, he discovered that in Canada, suicide had surpassed HIV as the leading cause of death among gay and bisexual men.

Mental health, substance abuse and HIV rates are part and parcel of the whole gay lifestyle, if it may be called that.
LGBT is more of a “deathstyle”. It is sterile, stilted, and a grotesque parody of lives that human beings were meant to live in the brief time each of us spend upon this plane of existence.
Not evil, necessarily. Just - failed.
I once asked a gay man in a ‘committed relationship’ why they do this?
His response: ‘We don’t equate sex with love.’ The two are unrelated feelings.
My response: ‘So, sex is a ‘sport’ for ‘entertainment’ value?’
His response: ‘Yes, basically. Like a carnival ride or whatever else you do for pleasure and fun.’
He was dismissive of the disease factor although he lives in one the nations highest AIDS sectors.
[He (60YO) was once married with 2 daughters. His wife died of cancer. He married a man, then divorced. Now he’s engaged to another guy.]
One could argue that the very large number of surgeries (and the hour-by-hour attention to makeup, dress, appearance and demeanor) required to “become” a trans or bisexual IS “suicide”.
It’s sad that half attempted to kill themselves.
It’s telling that only half actually attempting to physically kill themselves.
Scientist Travis Salway discovered that suicide had surpassed HIV as the leading cause of death for gay and bisexual men in Canada.
No. This doesn't explain anything.
Are they saying the homosexual community is used to having high death rates which used to be because of HIV but since HIV is now relatively treatable, homosexuals are now killing themselves to keep their death rates high?
I’m surprised they didn’t throw in “gun” deaths.
My first pass hypothesis is that the falling HIV mortality is just unmasking the suicide rate. That is, some of those that died of HIV would have committed suicide if they hadn’t died of HIV first.
The trannies were who successful in committing suicide aren’t in the sample. Including successful suicides, the odss might be 75 or 80 percent commit or attempt to commit suicide.
The real shocker and mystery from this graph is why do heterosexual women have almost 3X the suicide rate of heterosexual men. Any ideas?
Attempted suicide is not completed suicide
Mentaly ill people attempt

...
That’s because you are mentally ill.
Go figure.
Suicide is Painless.
And if you remember in the original M*A*S*H movie, “Painless”, the dentist wanted to kill himself because he thought he was a ‘fairy’, when he couldn’t get himself aroused for a woman.
Can you think of a more "stressed" group than American Blacks at various points in our nation's history? Is there record of them killing themselves in large numbers? No. How about German Jews in the 1930's? They didn't kill themselves either and were far more "stressed" than today's gays in the Western World. What a bogus theory.
Exactly.
They have rather avoided the point that many of those that would have otherwise died of HIV are now killing themselves.
Assuming this data is valid at all.
HIV deaths are reasonably but not entirely reliable, there is medical info on treatment, if there is treatment. But its well known many HIV cases cause of death was not listed as HIV, and many were untreated for various reasons. And still are.
This whole gay suicide statistic is pretty unreliable. How can anyone determine whether any given case if suicide is of a homosexual? Man OD’s alone, death reported, who fills in the blank about whether he was homosexual?
I have long known a homosexual man since he was 15 years old. His brother was my best friend. I have talked to Harry many times about all this. He says that his communmity was on the whole more satisfied with life, happier, when most were “in the closet.” They could interact with the world at large as people instead of ad designated hedonists. Their relationships with the normies was as other normies. Now their homosexuality is a necessary part of the relationship with everyone and it is depressing. Harry says that car people don’t want cars to be the only damned thing people talk about or think about when they are in the same room with them.
Money doesn’t satisfy you. Lots of neat toys don’t satisfy you. Success doesn’t satisfy you. Power doesn’t satisfy you. Family doesn’t satisfy you. . . .
Lots and lots of people chase their whole lives for happiness, satisfaction and love. Many never ever find it. Many are never content. Some commit suicide; some don’t.
Maybe, just maybe, some of these need to repair their relationship with their Maker.

The answer almost seems too obvious to be valid.
Women are women. And women are fundamentally, inherently different from men.
I know that sounds like begging the question, but it is a result of temperament makeup. Women, on the whole, are - excuse me - the "weaker sex," and are more fragile than men, who tough through hard times more often. That is why the woman most often enters the marriage relationship, for a protector.
