I've had that guy on my radar screen for years. For the life of me, I can't imagine why Trump would hire some jerk who probably would have been at the top of the list of candidates for Secretary of State in a Jeb Bush administration.
Shoot one Banana Republic Despot and ten more step up to take his place. Broad military action is a waste of time.
Now sending a cruise missile to take out Maduro and his ilk is not too bad of an idea. It doesn’t require ground troops.
It isn’t good for the arms industries’ bottom lines though...

Venezuela is a hard one. Don’t want to follow the neocon warmongers into that nation, but Russia and Cuba have no business there. Seize the airports?
Unfortunately, the people that Trump surrounds himself with in the WH are closer to the GOP establishment's view of things, and they're softening Trump's position on the first two and reversing it on the latter. The last thing we need is a situation where we send US troops to Venezuela - we then wind up "owning" the conflict, flood of refugees and all.
I’d be just peachy with bombing Iran or Venezuela. We could set it up like a ‘football pool’ and bet on body-counts.
