My instinctive reaction to this tripe
Since the average IQ of the Democrat rank and file voter appears to be somewhat lower than a turnip I suspect that they will support him if he manages to get the nomination. After all they are all for taking from those who earned it and giving the plunder to those who feel entitled to it (after the politicians take a significant chunk of the loot for themselves.)

The super at my old building was a Maltese named Buttigieg. It’s pronounced BUTT-i-gig. It’s not hard to say. Any other pronunciation is just trying to avoid saying “butt.”

Buttigieg has a low ceiling, sort of like Jesse Jackson did in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
He might be competitive against Harris in CA, which is interesting, but I can’t see him doing much in Georgia or South Carolina, nor among the lunchpail union Dems in the midwest (Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois).

I'm not a fan of direct insults. It serves to nullify any moral upper-hand we might have in objecting to the treatment of President Trump by the media, political opponents, and everyone they've ginned up. I've often said my issue with fake social conservatives who lie about having traditional values is their hypocrisy. I'm disgusted that they're getting elected instead of those who actually do support our values.
What's my point? Pete what's his name is not a hypocrite about his orientation. So to me, it's a non-issue. Let's applaud him for not being a hypocrite.
