Then we destroy ourselves to destroy them. Both ways we are destroyed.

That is the real conundrum.

It disturbs me greatly that the GOP is, in a very real sense, more deceptive and mendacious than the Democrats are.

Couldn't agree more with that statement of fact.

It also distrubs me greatly that the GOP has refused to get behind the president we elected.

I wish Trump would start a new political party. The GOP has failed us.

The counterpoint is: there isn't going to be a peaceful Convention-of-States to amend the Constitution that we still have. If it looks like it might really happen, such an event will be immediately hijacked by Leftists. They won't use peaceful means to replace delegates either.

But supposing that a COS does write a smorgasbord of amendments, some of which might actually be acceptable improvements (like mandatory term limits). The States can, in theory, pick out the "good amendments" from the "bad amendments". Maybe something decent could get approved.

The Government largely ignores the Constitution we have now. People tolerate major impairments to every one of the ten amendments in the Bill-of-Rights. Why would adding more amendments make any difference?

There are too many people who passionately want a Socialist Government and they will not be persuaded otherwise. Moreover the Socialists control almost all of our major cultural and political institutions right now. They won't voluntarily give up those positions.

We will get a revised Constitution after the next Civil War. Hold on to the COS proposals. They will be needed for the rebuilding that comes afterwards.

These Liberal vermin, and I do mean plague of insane, corrupt, amoral, power-hungry vermin intent on destroying everything they touch, bring their voter fraud with them as well as corruption. Labeling CA as “all” Leftist isn’t fair to those who can’t all just pick up and leave. The voter fraud that has become an institution in CA is what these Leftist vermin spread.

I truly believe it is the Left’s organized voter fraud that put Nanzi Piglosi and her gaggle of loons in control of the House.

——Then we destroy ourselves to destroy them——

I would argue that your premise is wrong.

“We” that is the American Republic, is already destroyed to the point it will never recover on it’s own. To return to as near as we can get to the original we must cut out, destroy, obliterate, the metastasized cancer that has killed the Republic.

That surgery, chemo, radiation treatment must first be conducted on California that has already in effect left the Union. California officials have repeatedly declared that American law is invalid and secondary to California.

We had an ‘incident’ last fall when three vehicles put spotlights on our home (very rural area) and our neighbor’s home 250 yds away. Both of us unleashed dozens of rounds into our woods. One car turned around and sped out of the area, but the other two continued up the private, posted road.

We blocked the exit with my truck and it wasn’t until they came down the hill and saw they couldn’t get out that they turned their blue lights on. Two Sheriff’s deputies, operating in violation of State law. The one that ran away was a State trooper.

Told their boss if it ever happens again, our response will be identical, except you’ll never see us and I won’t unlock the gate.

It is true that California has left the Union, but what can be done about it?

When the USSR devolved into just Russia we stood aside, they won’t.

Not true. Your point may be toward military involvement. But the demise of the USSR was not a military fight.

We were very involved with all the satellite countries looking for allies. When I was in Mongolia, all business signs were in English with some Chinese. Would suspect all signs are Chinese now.

Take a look at our revolution. Lots of involvement fromm the non English. Some direct, but a lot of indirect.

If the USA does devolve, there will be involvement of other countries.

Remember, NO ONE wanted to put the USSR back together again. And NO ONE will want to put the USA back together again.

I keep hearing about Leftists hijacking a COS. Delegates are agents with commissions. Not-hijackable.

Since, as you say, the government largely ignores the Constitution, then a COS can do no harm.

The only worthwhile amendments are those that reform corrupted institutions, beginning with repeal of the 17A and, for instance, Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendments.

But, for argument’s sake, let’s say you are right, and a COS somehow goes nuts, then at least the Constitution was amended through the Constitution instead of a shifting majority of nine lawyers or the Administrative State.

The government isn’t ours. We will continue to lose more of it with every passing year unless we stand up and reclaim what is OURS - our beloved Constitution.

-——what can be done——

I do not know. There is no “legal” procedure and advancing through the courts immediately will go no where.

Extra legal means establishing a precedent are necessary. Military means seems justified

For starters, in California, all the various state officials, the Governor, his staff, the legislators and staffs, mayors, and perhaps some judges that have defied American Federal law by establishing sanctuaries must be arrested and detained. The detention will be without bail because the crimes are against the Republic. Those arrested are in effect military prisoners who would continue to do the Republic harm if free. They have ceased being “Americans”

California must then be nationalized and degraded to territorial status. An interim government must be imposed to maintain order and keep a modicum of civilization in place. The various congress critters and Senators are no longer able to be seated in Washington because the state they represent is no longer in effect.

The question rises as to what is to be done with the detainees for an indefinite and undefined period. At a minimum, they must be held apart, incommunicado, in a place where they can not be reached. A small tropical pacific island such as exists in the Marianas group comes to mind.

For starters.....

Oops. I missed your last para.

<>We will get a revised Constitution after the next Civil War. Hold on to the COS proposals. They will be needed for the rebuilding that comes afterwards<>

Really? You’re willing to roll the dice on the outcome of revolution, then a COS? A COS before the bayonet is far safer.

What you are saying is true in a few small geographic areas. For 90% of the country there will no war at all. For example Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma WILL NOT BE RWANDA. LOL.

Don’t be ridiculous. There will be entire sections of the country that will faction off and be entirely stable. The only brush people paint with around here are the broadest ones...

That would be my new tag line if I only had room.

What an excellent opening volley to proclaim the official declaration of the civil war we have had foisted upon us by the Socialist/Commie Left.

The Left would scream like piglets. Music to our ears.

Only the President could or should take such action (and I have no idea how this would be done legally). And only Trump has the brass balls needed.

What are the Democrats going to do, scream for impeachment?

Article Opponents at FR are so dense they prefer millions of dead....

Indeed! How many revolutions or Civil Wars have resulted in an outcome they were fighting for? Their blood thirst is such they'd throw away the best Revolution in the history of the World for their hate. It clouds their minds.

A COS before the bayonet is far safer.

Well, yes, that certainly would be a safer and better alternative by every possible measure.

I do not believe that we have that alternative available. To me, it appears to be a happy illusion. Wishful thinking. Danger Will Robinson! Danger!

Your reasoned assessment of the situation differs from mine. That is perfectly normal and it is a good thing. Everybody brings something different to the table. And this is one area where I hope I am wrong, and you are right.

There must be many plans for different possibilities. The limits of those possibilities are not where we perceive them to be. And for any given plan there must be checkpoints and regeneration points for when things go off the rails.

What do you have for checkpoints on the plan for the Convention of States?
