Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker has left the Department of Justice.
A Justice Department spokesman told The Hill that Whitakers last day was Saturday but did not expand on the circumstances surrounding his departure or his plans after leaving. It is unclear where Whitaker might go, including whether he might seek another role in the Trump administration.
Whitaker served as the chief of staff for former attorney general Jeff Sessions until last November, when President Trump tapped him to lead the department temporarily following Sessionss ouster. Sessions resigned at Trumps request the day after the November midterm elections, after enduring months of criticism from the president over his decision to recuse himself from special counsel Robert Muellers Russia investigation.
Whitakers departure comes less than three weeks after Bill Barr was confirmed as Trumps next attorney general. Barr was widely expected to bring new blood to top leadership roles in the department, raising questions about Whitakers tenure.

Sounds as if this was expected.
Is Barr ridding the DOJ of pro-MAGA supporters?
I don’t care if he’s 30 percent of what he was 10 years ago, put Rudy in.
He’ll still get 10 times more done.
Or put fatso in and use him.
He can be Trump’s Luca Brasi for a year and then let him go.
Trump keeps getting bad advice whispered to him in dark corners.
How is Whittaker gone before Rosenstein?
So far, Barr is indistinguishable from the fey Wray.
Typically the big boss brings his own lieutenants.
Any position would be a demotion. I’ll take a wait and see attitude.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this.
Much more than expected. It was planned, it was announced, and it was promised. This is really a non story that some media twit is trying to use to throw stones at the Administration.
Yep
Mick Mulvaney while doing a great job is currently doing double duty as Chief of Staff and head of OMB. Whitaker was Session’s chief of staff. Could we see Whitaker brought on to be the next Chief of Staff. That’s not cabinet level so no Congressional approval, but it’s a super duper important job.
Hmmm...I was impressed with him...I hope this doesn’t hurt Our President...can’t trust those RATS even with the light on them...
Whatever happen to that investigator from Utah? The one to shut down Mueller.
Interesting......
so, you believe he is one of the good guys?
What ever happened to Fay Wray?
Yes. No way was this expected. Whitaker had agreed to a deputy job in some DOJ division. He's not being booted from a top job. The President is not in control of the DOJ.
Whitaker out at Justice Department

That’s a shame. He did more in 90 days than Sleepy Jeff did in two years.
And apparently Big State Bob is on track to do as little as Sessions.
Hoo boy.
