Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went on a Twitter tear accusing people of undermining her intelligence over statements she made about Amazon’s failed move to the Big Apple.
“Frankly, the knee-jerk reaction assuming that I ‘don’t understand’ how tax giveaways to corps work is disappointing,” the progressive darling wrote Tuesday.
The youngest member of Congress came under fire when she argued last week that the close to $3 billion in tax breaks and subsidies the city and state offered Amazon to build a headquarters in Long Island City could have been better spent on hiring teachers or fixing the subways.
In a five-tweet rant, Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at people who pointed out that $2.5 billion of the $3 billion represented future tax breaks — not a large pile of cash that could now be spent elsewhere.

No...she does that completely on her own.
She either did not understand how the tax abatement works or did not believe that her constituents understood.
Not does she seem to understand that for every Amazon job created there would be 2 to 3 other jobs created ranging from janitors, waitresses, small business people, lawyers, accountants and the full range of support jobs. All of these new workers would pay NYS and NYC taxes.
Further, LaGuardia Community Collage is located within walking distance of the proposed Amazon Campus. Amazon was going to offer internships and potential employment to those students. LaGuardia is primarily populated by poor and minority students who cannot afford to go away to a four year college.
This broad is a dunce. The city was not “giving away” anything.
She’s God’s gift to Trump. Her Green Raw Deal is sure to infect the Democrat candidates mistaking the media hate for Trump as his blood in the water. The fools think whoever survives the Democrat primary circular firing squad will be the next president. There’s not enough popcorn in the world for what’s about to happen.
She had no reason to even get involved in this issue at all. The Amazon site wasn’t in her district, and the implications for her constituents were positive at best and neutral at worst. She still thinks she’s a New York City barmaid looking for a political cause, rather than a member of Congress sent to Washington to represent her district.

The White House is readying a presidential panel that would question U.S. military and intelligence reports showing human-driven climate change poses risks to national security, according to a document seen by Reuters on Wednesday.
The effort comes as President Donald Trump seeks to expand U.S. production of crude oil, natural gas, and coal, and unwind regulatory hurdles on doing so...
The panel, to be formed by an executive order by Trump, would be headed by William Happer, a retired Princeton University physics professor currently on the White House’s National Security Council.
Happer disagrees with mainstream climate science and believes that emissions of the main greenhouse gas that scientists blame for climate change – carbon dioxide – benefits the planet by helping plants grow…
“These scientific and national security judgements have not undergone a rigorous independent and adversarial scientific peer review to examine the certainties and uncertainties of climate science, as well as implications for national security,” the document said…
The White House is holding a meeting on Feb. 22 in the situation room to discuss an upcoming executive order by Trump to set up the committee, made up of 12 or fewer people, said the document, dated Feb. 14. The document was first reported by the Washington Post...

The only thing that dingbat, AOC, did was provide Amazon with cover.

If Amazon was even serious and the whole HQ2 thing wasn’t just a ploy to try to screw more taxpayer money out of Seattle and/or WA.

She is not very intelligent. She got where she is because she was attractive, young and backed by a pretty good organization. (I think they chose a bad candidate to back. But, time will tell.)
Her problem is, like most people who are not particularly intelligent, she doesn’t know what it is that she doesn’t know. Like the young man who recently decided so steal a private jet so he could attend a rap concert in a distant city; he said, “How hard can it be? You push a few buttons.” (Her statement on how they should spend the Amazon tax relief is on par with the man stealing a jet.)
The article included no statements of defense of her position by AOC...only that the accusations levied against her were disappointing.
How she handles this mistake is important to whether or not she is damaged goods or can, like the snake she is, continue to slither forward as an agent for her cause.
If she hadn't been so gloriously wrong in her comments, she would have accessed a huge free opportunity for nationwide publicity.
That's plenty of reason to get involved.
It appears she got out over her skis on this issue (i.e., went public with a BIG statement before clearing it with her handlers).
There's half the fence right there!
That's the most polite way to say it.
