she and cuomo cost NY 24 billion in tax revenue (27 owed minus 3 for incentives) over ten years and 25,000 jobs. This in a week where NY’s taxes have driven more people out of state and tax revenue is 2.5 bill less than projected.
Caller to Rush today brought up the concept of Cuomo being miffed that his planned trickle down had fallen through. LOL
Rush also addressed the comment by AOC that they could now use the $4.3 billion (approx), to fix things in New York that would have gone unaddressed, if they gave it to Amazon.
What the brain trust didn’t grasp, is that they didn’t have $4.3 billion. They were going to give Amazon a $4.3 billion dollar break on state taxes, since it was going to bring in close to thirty billion to the state.
So Cortez was expressing a thrill over a $4.3 billion that is now nothing but vapor, and not recognizing at all the other $26 billion the state just lost.
She’s just not capable of grasping these dynamics.
Yes, she just saved New York alright. And her little minions will be celebrating tonight.
If hers is an example of a BU education in economics, then shame on BU.
Amazon does not want to be the “other people” whose money runs out for the NYC communists.
On the other hand, she may have done some serious damage to herself within the Democratic Party. Amazon was going to locate in a neighboring district that has been represented by Carolyn Maloney for more than two decades. AOC would have been better off keeping her mouth shut on this.

Dear Mr. Bezos,
Their are hundreds of small communities, within driving distance of major metropolitan cities, that would offer affordable tracts of land where you can build your next headquarters. The people are friendly and would appreciate the opportunities that would naturally follow the placement of this facility. I doubt that Amazon would face any crazy local ordinances being adopted which would place a “head tax” on the numbers of employees you plan to have to fund all sort of crazy Social Justice programs.
Just a thought, but one you should consider before wasting your time like you did with NYC.
