Four staffers to Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax have quit in the wake of allegations of sexual assault and rape made against him days ago. Two of the three employees on Fairfax's state payroll and two employees working for his political action committee (PAC) have departed. As a part-time lieutenant governor, Fairfax keeps a small team of aides working on his behalf in Richmond.
"The Lt. Governor appreciates the amazing service of his former staff members. Their work and dedication was incredible. He certainly wishes them well and appreciates their service to the Commonwealth of Virginia," said his political spokeswoman, Lauren Burke, who is staying on.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch first reported details of the departures, noting that one of the employees who left was Dave Mills, the executive director of Fairfax's PAC We Rise Together. Mills is married to Virginia state Sen. Jennifer McClellan, whose name has been mentioned as a candidate to replace Fairfax should he be forced to step down.

They could air it every night for a few months.
Typical ‘Rat response: “Bitch set me up.”
I’ll BET there are MORE!
Is he married?
Yup, since 2006, IIRC. To a dentist. And they’ve got kids.
Looks to me like she’s got way more brains than he does. And options. If he screwed around on her and gets caught, he’s toast.
Believe it or not but she is my dentist. She is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. I feel sorry that she is going through this. I believe all this before their marriage. Two young kids.
I wonder if the Washington Post is still refusing to cover this story.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Fairfax#Sexual_assault_allegations
...Fairfax had been accused by Vanessa Tyson, an associate professor at Scripps College and fellow at Stanford University, of sexual assault at a hotel at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston.[41][42]
Tyson had first approached The Washington Post with her allegation after Fairfax won election in November 2017, but the Post said that it decided not to run the story because it could not corroborate the story or find similar incidents in Fairfax’s past.[42] Tyson also approached a friend, Virginia Congressman Bobby Scott, with the allegation around the same time, but Scott declined to act on it.[43] According to The New York Times, at least six friends of Tyson reported that she told them about the alleged assault between 2017 and 2018.[44]
Fairfax denied the accusation, saying his encounter with Tyson was consensual and the timing of the reports was intended to smear him; beginning February 1, after the discovery of a racist photo on Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook, there had been widespread calls for Northam to resign and let Fairfax become Governor of Virginia.[45] Fairfax also insinuated that supporters of Northam, or someone connected with Richmond mayor Levar Stoney, a potential political rival since both were speculated as possible Democratic candidates for governor in 2021, may have been behind the allegation going public.[46][47][48]
Anything to distract from the Governor's support of infanticide.
I wouldnt be getting any root canal anytime soon!
Gives me a warm feeling but different than the one the women got.
I think the Virginia Assemby Republicans should not impeach anybody(Fairfax, Northam and Herrin) but rather state”We will not impeach anyone, but from now on when we are speaking of them in public they shall be henceforth referred to as..LT Governor Justin “KAVANAUGH” Fairfax,Governor George “Kavanaugh” Northam, and Attorney General Mark “Kavanaugh” Herrin in memory of the false accusations laid upon Justice Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings. Perhaps it is time the politics of personal destruction and political attacks on officials’ families and their children should cease!”
Sullies the name of ‘Kavanaugh’
That’s an outrageous smear against Judge Kavanagh.
The latest spin in Virginia is “Everyone did blackface”. We are seeing countless stories normalizing the behavior.
Personally, I think the blackface issue is not the important one. The important issue should be the governors stance on infanticide, but that has taken second place to an issue about dressing up as someone else. People do all sorts of outrageous and sometimes funny things when they come up with creative (or not so creative) costumes for Halloween or other occasions. That act of putting on a costume, blackface or not, may or may not hurt someone's "feeeelings", but its no crime and feelings aren't protected by law, or at least they weren't.
Bad judgement? Yes. Do people want to vote someone who wore a KKK hood as a youth prank into office? Probably not. But its still not baby murder.
And the reaction from the holier than thou black community who are so outraged by 'blackface' is so hypocritical when they dismiss the irresponsibility in their own race regarding the values of raising their kids, keeping them off drugs or away from crime, being absent parents, and teaching hate or that all their troubles are the result of whitey.
The job market is great. Why stick out this mess?
How many Staffers does a VA Lt Gov have?
I have no idea, but two young people in my family have recently gotten great dream jobs making good money. Why would anyone hang out in Richmond as this mess drags on
Picking the one that won't prove be a career killer will be tough, though.
