High Profile Democrats call on Northum to Resign, As Governor Vows to Finish Term

A series of prominent Democrats demanded Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's resignation on Friday, excoriating him for appearing in a racist yearbook photo showing one person dressed in blackface and another in the KKK's signature white hood and robes.

The calls came from a number of 2020 presidential candidates, members of Congress and prominent liberal organizations, all of whom said Northam's apology on the issue was not enough. The NAACP also called for Northam to leave office. Those calls, however, were not echoed by Virginia Democrats, including Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner. Both said they were shocked and offended by the photos, but in separate statements both said it was time for the governor to think about what comes next for him and to listen to those he has offended. Northam, for his part, has vowed to finish his one and only term as Virginia governor, issuing a video statement on Friday evening where he apologized but pledged to remain in office.

Actually, I'm thinking that the Dems dug up this 'dirt' on Northam because his remarks about full term abortion were (and are) hurting them with people across the political spectrum.

The pressure on this guy between now and Monday will be uber intense to step down.

It won’t be just the politicians but big name corporations in Virginia who will jump in and pressure him also.

The Tidal Wave will be unlike anything we have seen to date to drive a newly elected Governor out of office over pictures from over 30 years ago in a different era.

The problem becomes who does not have any feet of clay here, the Left’s Hypocrisy and Mendacity know no bounds.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the Democrats that brought this to light. The Lt. Governor is black, so he checks a box that Northam doesn't. The problem for the Dems is that the next Lt. Governor should be a Republican assuming the GOP majority isn't stupid (assuming Northam is replaced).

Will the new Virginia Governor be a featured guest of the Democrats? Will his presence, coupled with Abram's response, be the foundation of how Democrats plan to respond to Trump's expected comments about the economy and border security?

So, rather than eliminate him (figuratively) over that issue, they find something more politically incorrect with which to barbecue the creep.
