Journos Meltdown After Being Told 'Learn To Code' In Wake Of Mass Layoffs At HuffPo, Buzzfeed

After news came out about mass layoffs at HuffPost, Buzzfeed and Gannett -- in the midst of the media's relentless smear-job against the Covington Catholic students -- right-wing Twitter had a field day.

Tons of leftist journalists announced they were laid off on Twitter and the top meme was telling them to "learn to code" -- which is the same advice the media gave middle Americans whose jobs are being taken in traditional industries.

Talia Levin, who was hired by Media Matters last year after being fired by the New Yorker for smearing an ICE agent as a Nazi because she thought a tattoo he had looked like an iron cross, got quite triggered:

Chloe Angyal, best known for penning the inflammatory "Goy Bye!" Huffington Post headline after Steve Bannon was ousted from the White House, was also laid off.

Yes, she has a *literal* PhD in Romantic Comedies.

The editor-in-chief of Jalopnik (which is now owned by the far-left Gizmodo Media Group) was also "trigged":

Smearing a bunch of children and trying to ruin their lives for smiling is "respectable journalism" -- but making fun of journalists for losing their jobs is just a step too far!

My favorite:

"Toxic Masculinity must be held in check. If we lose The Huffington Post Opinion then we must get Congress to pass sensible legislation to regulate The First Amendment to protect society against smirk violence and assault hats.

Funny they would be triggered by such good advice. Isn’t that what they tell the losers in fly over country to do when their favorite policies result in the dirt people losing their jobs? Isn’t that what they recommended to the coal miners and folks whose factories moved to mexico and china?

They are writers, so perhaps they could learn to be technical writers (writing manuals for all manner of products). This probably would not appeal, because companies likely do not let you insert your political opinions and virtue signal in the manual for the new iPhone or Droid.

A PhD in Romantic Comedies? Employers will be lining up for THAT one.

I suggest they all become mimes. Then we won’t ever have to hear from them again.

i bet the total layoffs this week of 800 “journalists” at Verizon’s AOL/Yahoo fake “news” media outlets exceeds Huffpo, buzzfeed and Gannett.

Overall, it’s been a great week! Lots of “journalists” being fired, lots of angels getting their wings ...

Thank you for that explanation.

So they make up the word Latinx, for Latina/Latino.

But what do they do with an entire language that has feminine/masculine ... Las/Los, etc.?

Will it be X Vegas, X Angeles?

Yep, bless their cotton picking hearts... may they rot in hell...

No computer classes for me in junior high. Just a slide rule, pencil and paper. My freshman physics at UCSD in 1974 was aided by a 4 function Radio Shack calculator. It was necessary to to square roots by successive approximation. A year later, I had a nice Casio scientific calculator that included factorial notation...key for those combinatorial genetics calculations. My graduation present in June 1976 was an HP25 that I could program to do high precision interpolation of genetics crossover frequency tables found in Schaum's Genetics review. Later in the year, I had the pleasure of selling the first 5 TRS-80 Model I computers from the Radio Shack store in Mission Valley (San Diego) in Sept 1976.

My son says the same. He did great in his EE and Physics classes. He was the class TA and tutor. All fun and games until he had to write code in Java for a class. That's not his forte. I write in about 30 different computer languages. I make a good living doing that. It's not for everybody.

I had a new person assigned to my software development group. She was accustomed to getting continual praise for her work. The things we were doing would take weeks to complete. Nobody will see the end product for a long time. I explained that should be need to develop a sense of pride and accomplishment in seeing the work come to life as she writes it and the functionality grows. That resolved the problem. She generated great code, enjoyed the job and received praise from external customers when the product was delivered.

I get a fair amount of the theories but I apparently have the touch.

Many years ago, I took a C class and dropped it before flunking out.

The instructor would look at what I did and most should have worked. I confounded him too.

Hands-on experience is ALWAYS the best teacher...

But... failing that... they should.... LEARN TO CODE...
