The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the Trump administration's request to allow it to temporarily enforce its restrictions on transgender people serving in the military.
The court, however, did not agree to review the legality of the new policy until the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a ruling.

What about medical problems you couldnt see, like epilepsy?
Then, if they had a seizure while on active duty or boot camp, they received a medical discharge.
I don’t know what happens now.
For the same reason they do not allow diabetics into the military. They require a great deal of medical treatment on a specific schedule.
They are also mentally unfit.
There is a “Medical Manual” that covers, in great detail, a wide variety of medical problems that can be disqualifying for military service, and lesser problems that might permit LIMITED military service. As one might expect, being qualified to fly, serve on submarines, etc...can have tougher requirements.
Any medical condition that requires ‘special considerations’ that might not be able to be met while deployed overseas or near the battle front would be disqualifying. Transgendered need regular hormones - so they are not deployable. Someone who had bariatric surgery (partial stomach removal, stapling of stomach, or a lap-band to make the stomach smaller) as a way of losing weight - requires the person to be on a special diet AND requires frequent supplements. As you can guess - the person is not deployable - therefore bariatric surgery is disqualifying for military service.
Transgendered want SPECIAL treatment...and want exemptions from common sense rules. Military is not supposed to be a place for social experimentation...and the Obama plan to permit guys with gender dysphoria to shower with the straight females - and force the females to accept it or be prosecuted was an “Obamanation”.
Absolutely.
Thanks for the excellent update of clarification re dis-qualifiers.
Her stunt double voted.
The real RBG is entombed under a pyramid. She was pre-embalmed about 10 yrs ago?
Winning!

“Thats why the Left will ferociously battle to keep another Trump nominee off the SCOTUS.”
They are already going against Catholics (e.g. the Covington boys), because they know Amy Comey Barrett WILL BE our next Supreme Court Justice, and probably much sooner than anyone thinks...;)
How do you feel about the much higher medical costs, in the many $millions, to provide older veterans with viagra which their wives may or may not be enthusiastic about? When my 74 year old husband was dying slowly of Alzheimers, the VA doctor wanted to know if our sex life was satisfactory. I had to explain to him that at this point his behavior and cognition was that of a child and anything of that sort would feel really weird and inappropriate. He died 15 months later.
Meaningless for the long term... Trump can only be president until 2024. The next guy can just reverse it with the stroke of a pen.
You will never get a more permanent ban passed by Congress...especially not with this House.

Against it. I’m past needing it, but does the VA hand out birth control to younger women? Never asked; I always felt that responsibility should be squarely on my and my husband’s shoulders.
And, we can take this a step further. MILLIONS was spent on my FIL by the VA when he went septic after failing (on his part) to have a simple hernia taken care of that was 10+ years old. He was already well into his 80’s and they felt they needed to keep him alive for some reason. He spent a full month in ICU and then another two in regular hospital care.
And don’t even get me started on my OWN Dad (also in his 80’s) who has sucked up hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few years’ time on his Medicare/Medicaid. Again, everything wrong with him is self-inflicted due to smoking, alcohol abuse and a sedentary lifestyle. He’s losing his marbles now; he still remembers me, but is fixated on our family dog who died 45 years ago. He doesn’t know who the current President is, or what day of the week it is.
It’s a slippery slope. I’m against abortion, but I’m also against ‘science’ keeping us alive just so we can languish. BUT - I also don’t want to be the Judge & Jury on End Of Life issues.
Tough call.
I can certainly sympathize and agree. Both my mother and my husband agreed in advance they did not want heroic measures in their end days and preferred to die at home. I cared for them while they were dying—my mother for 6 months and my husband for years. She died of congestive heart failure at 89 from a failed pig valve mitral valve replacement (their life is about 10 years). He died after a long decline from Alzheimers at 75. Fortunately, they had gotten advanced directives when they were both still mobile and mentally competent.
You can save yourself and their estate a lot of money if you can stomach the process of watching them die. I had done a lot of psychotherapy dealing with feelings toward my mother and my husband. Otherwise I am not sure I could have coped it with very well. One thing helped, they were both insistent they did not want a bunch of their money paid to doctors to keep them alive a few more days or weeks. The majority of medical costs are spent in the last 6 months of most people’s lives.
