Sen. David Perdue: Mitt Romney makes the same mistake that cost him the White House
Washington Post ^ | Jan 5 2019 | David Perdue

n a recent op-ed for The Post, “The president shapes the public character of the nation. Trump’s character falls short,” Mitt Romney made the same mistake that many Republicans did in 2012 — a mistake that cost him the White House.

With his attempted character assassination of the president, a fellow Republican, Romney put self-interest ahead of the larger national interest: conservative Republican governance. The op-ed brought to mind 2012, when many Republicans chose to divide the party by continually bashing each other. Romney eventually discovered that many discouraged GOP voters decided to stay home on Election Day.

Trump had the perfect response — Romney is not a team player. It takes teams to win. None of these politicians including Trump can do it alone. They need to find common ground and work together. Most of the things Trump is proposing are not new and most Republicans have supported those positions in the past.

He does it repeatedly and is stuck on stupid. The Bible says that a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways.

I’m shocked that the Washington Post actually printed this article.

Romney now taking incoming fire from just about everyone in the Republican Party.

Funny...I also hear that Romney hates being called the “Jr. Senator” from Utah. Let’s hope that continues...

“He does it repeatedly and is stuck on stupid. The Bible says that a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways.”

SALT LAKE CITY, UT—Mitt Romney, incoming senator for Utah and follower of Joseph Smith, lectured the nation in an op-ed Tuesday on the need to reject morally flawed leaders.

The man who has devoted his life to the teachings of a con artist encouraged the nation to examine its leaders to see whether they are worthy of our devotion and respect.

“A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect,” wrote the man who follows Joseph Smith, a false prophet, notorious polygamist, and scam artist. He pointed out that the president hasn’t shown himself to be honest or forthcoming in his dealings with opponents and other countries, while Joseph Smith’s own prophecies failed to come true over and over again, and while the Mormon Church continues to deceive its members by covering up its past.

Romney took Trump to task for his immoral lifestyle, slamming him for being divisive, destructive, and sexist, though the first prophet of his church consolidated power throughout his life in order to marry more women and eventually deceive millions into believing a false gospel.

To close his opinion piece, Romney urged the president to live a morally upstanding lifestyle, “and maybe look for wisdom to lead the nation by staring at stones in a hat.”

Trump is the de facto leader of the Republican party which now excludes two time loser Mitt Romney, magizineless Bill Kristol, and ex Governor John Kasich

If Mitt kisses Mitch’s ass, he may be readmitted

I will never vote for Romney. Write it down. If he were the only Republican candidate, I would not vote. Let this nation go to war.

Concur; that is the wise response.

I actually think there is a chance that he will fall into line, after the pushback he’s gotten.

In the Summer of 2015, on July 3 (we have a big 4th of July parade, and Mitt has one of his residences in my town) there was a conclave at Mitt’s estate which consisted of Jeb, the mailman’s son, Bubble Boy and Governor Beached Whale.

I think Mitt has repeatedly made the mistake of thinking that his buddies are the GOP. He may change now, who knows?

Somebody gets it. Main reason that McCain, Flake, Corker or Romney could never be President.
