….The details of the charges against Whelan from a special court-martial that resulted in his discharge for bad conduct two years later add to an increasingly complex picture of the 48-year-old former Marine, whom Russian officials have accused of spying. His case grew more perplexing on Friday after Ireland became the fourth nation to acknowledge him as a citizen and seek consular access.

The waters are starting to muddy a bit. So, who is this guy, for real?

The FSB is still trying to figure it all out.

Citizenship in 4 countries.

Sounds like he’s prepared.

I'd say anyone who has four nations declaring the guy a citizen has a lot of explaining to do -- and probably wasn't traveling to Russia just for a wedding.

How many passports does he have?

Interesting to note that there have not been the usual strong denials from the State Department regarding allegations that this guy was a spook. The, thus far, circumstantial evidence is making me think the Russians may have actually arrested somebody on legit grounds. If so, am sure it was an accident.

In Moscow for a simple wedding? As we hear more about this guy, the less that is credible explanation.

That sounds like a cover story he told his family.

There’s an awful groundswell of concern about this guy on the leftie fake-mainstream media, like CNN, NPR, and the terrorist-loving Washington ComPost.

Paul Whelan’s Marine discharge was larceny related

Just like Khashoggi; they don’t give a rat’s rear end about him but he makes a convenient anti-Trump talking point.

the article goes more in depth, but he was known to the Ruskies for some time - having been a frequenter of a specific Russian social internet group or site. I doubt he’s ours, tho, unless he’s a dark player. The DD locked on him would have gone away otherwise. His bad judgement and possible sense of resentment would however, make him good bait for a third player. There’s a reason Russia named the specific social site. All speculation on my part of course.

Wow! That’s complicated! I doubt that even he knows who he is. And this person was a Marine?

The FSB is still trying to figure it all out.

I think that is well within the scope of their "capabilities".

From your source:

“He joined the Marine Reserves May 10, 1994, and was an administrative clerk and administrative chief. He rose to the rank of staff sergeant in December 2004 and was deployed in the war against Iraq for several months in 2004 and 2006.

He was convicted at a special court-martial in January 2008 on several charges related to larceny and was given a bad-conduct discharge in December 2008 at the rank of private.”

Wouldn’t be the first supply sergeant to get caught with his fingers in the cookie jar. Sort of makes you wonder about how he got to his present life, however.

Maybe he's an international jewel thief. Or he just wanted to get out of town for a while until some heat blew over. Guessed wrong. :^)

Will he be strip searched, have his rectum inspected & be put in solitary confinement like the Deep State did to the Russian girl who attended prayer breakfast & gun shows?
