Partner, we hope that he was chosen by President Trump to clean up the cesspool in the U.S. Justice Department.

If you want a revolution, you will have to go elsewhere and use entirely different means, Trump was never going to be that.

The only reason I came out of seclusion is because I thought Trump was promising a revolution. I initially dismissed him as a circus freak when he originally announced. A few family members suggested I should listen to one of his rallies, as they thought he was sincere. I never had a problem with his message, it just took awhile to believe he was serious.

I've been at the forefront of those stating that Trump holds every possible card. Initially, his hesitancy to act could be explained away as strategy, a method of patiently building a case against the deep state. The problem is, at some point one has to act. For example, within 2 years for each of the proceeding 4 administrations, they were busy beavers taking whatever (illegal) actions were necessary to push their respective agendas.

Now Trump has nominated a career beltway denizen, so I figure his time is up. It's pretty clear to all but the most adamant clinging to their denials that nothing is going to happen. For me, it's not that big of deal - I can simply go back to the GOPe and continue preparing for when the entire US looks like Calif. I already know how to deal with the "servants", and as they become even more predominate, my sense of noblesse oblige will only improve.

The citizens of this country were warned, repeatedly, of what was in store for them. They didn't listen - or act - so unless they get with the program and assume a position superiority/authority with the "help", they are going to truly be deplorables.

Interesting. John was also the only apostle who was actually at the crucifixion, except for the women who were closest to Jesus. They were there, Mary and Mary Magdalene. Some think that was primarily why John wasnt martyred. I don’t know.

Thomas had sufficient counterweights in a lifetime of not being Deep State. He was nominated for the same reason Bush II nominated Alito - as a way to shore up support with a base that cared about nothing more.

One thing I can say for absolute certainty: Trump has probably had enough of dealing with these Southern jack@sses who read the Bible every day and go to church every Sunday ... then go out into Washington and get their asses kicked around from sunrise to sunset.

Remember one of the most important narratives of the New Testament: the juxtaposition of the apostles John and Peter. John was Christ’s favorite disciple, and his faith was so strong that he was the only one who was not martyred. Peter was a very flawed misfit who even denied Christ three times on the night before the crucifixion.

For their legacies, Jesus Christ — while dying on the cross — told John to take care of Mary, the Mother of God.

He told Peter that he would be the rock on which Christ would build His church — to prevail against the forces of hell until the end of time.

That was brilliant, and I say that as some one who professionally teaches theology, and especially scripture, to undergraduates. I wish I had said that, and am going to unapologetically steal it for use in class. John also had his own problems . . . but God writes straight with crooked lines ‘cause that is what he has chosen to work with (well, if you are Catholic, he chose to include a straight line in the bunch, but only one).

By this time next year, Trump’s 4am Twitters will be filled with anti-Barr rants. Mindless pick. Sidney Powell would have eviscerated the Deep Staters, Barr will serve them Milk & Cookies

You won’t hear too much of substance from me on these threads—on the religion forum and on things Canadian I may say stuff, but on a thread like this I don’t know enough to contribute to the meat—though I think I can throw in some witty observations from time to time. That is still better than unwittingly and unknowingly testifying to the decline of western civilization, which ought to be avoided. It drives other freepers to drink.

I thought the civil war was over.

It went cold in ‘65, but the cultural differences crossed state lines even then—Generals Pemberton, CSA, and Thomas, USA, among others testify to this. They still do.

I’m sure that Trump can go from knowing virtually nothing about someone to knowing a great deal in two days by having some others do some work and report to him.

I trust that he, like Lincoln, is looking for someone who can get something done—and Lincoln, for good or ill, finally found Grant (I pull for the South, but Lincoln definitely has Jeff Davis beat for being willing to fire generals that needed firing).

I also trust that, besides praying, I can’t change too much.

Roll Tide.

Well, I sympathize as I am old enough as well that seclusion is also possible for me as well.

But this is the thing - if you are looking for a revolution you don’t do that by electing a president, particularly one without a political party. Revolutions require force...armies, even if guerilla...and massive societal upheaval. Presidents don’t have that power or hold those cards...again particularly those that are not at the head of massive political movement. Trump didn’t have a movement or even any kind of political organization - he had the ability to get votes from a depressed populace angry about enough specific issues in enough states to win an office. That’s a VERYdifferent thing.

I am certain Trump is serious...about correcting what he sees as the dysfunctional stupidity of our governing class. He just has very limited power by himself (and in D.C. he IS by himself) to implement those changes. When the founders set up the dispersion of power and checks and balances it was determined that we wouldn’t have a “strong man” form of government. So he is limited by structure as well as by having no organized political movement or support. To change these things you need either a revolution or generations of slow, incremental institutional and societal change. That is something the Marxists, as in California, are very adept at. And we are now at least two generations into the Marxist movement and they are seeing much success in various places.

We either need to follow their blueprint and work over 50 to 60 years, or we will need to take the route of much greater upheaval and destruction - which in itself requires a significant level of organization and structure that does not exist now. Electing a Loner President won’t do it.

So perhaps seclusion, for those of us lucky and successful enough to be able to acquire it, isn’t such a bad answer.

We do not need a person with this much government history.
He is a deep state operative.

LOL.
Your Deep State Operative has been out of government work since GHWB left office. The vast majority of his experience has been in the private sector.

Link quickly - Leftists are busy smearing ADDING SELECTED EDITS

Barr has stated that he believed the constitution was not originally intended to create a right to abortion; that Roe v. Wade was thus wrongly decided; and that abortion should be a "legitimate issue for state legislators"..[10]

Barr is a Roman Catholic. He is a resident of Virginia.

Barr is just another lifelong deep stater ...

When you start with a premise that is so factually wrong, you've got no credibility.

Barr stepped down as U.S. Attorney General in January 1993 when GHWB left office. He's been working outside government for almost 26 years since then -- mainly in senior executive roles in the telecommunications industry.

Thanks, Susquehanna! I travel frequently to the Harrisburg area for work, so if you’re in central PA then you live in a beautiful place!

Don't know if you've ever read Catch-22 (sheer genius IMO), but there's a scene set during the Allied conquest of Sicily. (Most of the story takes place shortly afterward once an airfield is established to conduct bombing missions into northern Italy that the Germans still held.)

There's an old man who is cynically waving the US flag as Patton's troops march into Palermo. He admits, even while he's furiously cheering on the troops and tossing roses on the leading officers in the parade, that he did the same exact thing for the Germans a few years earlier.

His rationale? Simple - Sicily has been conquered, occupied & ruled by so many different empires and governments over millenia, that it doesn't matter who's in charge today, someone else will be at some future point in time. Same could be said about our situation - change your uniform and pretend you were always in love with Big brother.

As you know, Calif is now a proglib super majority state. Yet, does anything really change at all for those luckily enough to be in the upper economic layer? To the contrary, it seems everything is getting nicer. Oh sure, you don't want to drive very far into the zones where our "new" Americans live, but as long as they commute here to their daily service jobs, what's not to like? After all, the Spaniards have been doing it for 500 years in Mexico City.

It's the average American who is getting the shaft. Since they had the most to lose, they should have taken the most forceful approach. But, on average, they just aren't smart enough to put 2+2 together. So, exactly as Jefferson warned, the corporations would literally steal their legacy right out from underneath them; and they have.

Yes! And that famous scene in Catch 22 describes the great bulk of a population very well. Just let us live our lives...of course, in many instances they don’t end up letting us do that.

Those in the middle always get run over. I like to just call them Marxists (unless I feel angry and call them fascists, eh, same diff). And like all despotism, the middle gets destroyed with only the peasants really being useful to the elite...they’ll keep a few talented “shopkeepers” around out of interest and amusement. Dacha society. Their problem is sometimes those damned peasants get uppity, seeing how the other “half” lives...then things can get real fun, and the elite might like to have that middle class back again as a buffer.
