I thought the civil war was over.


It went cold in ‘65, but the cultural differences crossed state lines even then—Generals Pemberton, CSA, and Thomas, USA, among others testify to this. They still do.

I’m sure that Trump can go from knowing virtually nothing about someone to knowing a great deal in two days by having some others do some work and report to him.

I trust that he, like Lincoln, is looking for someone who can get something done—and Lincoln, for good or ill, finally found Grant (I pull for the South, but Lincoln definitely has Jeff Davis beat for being willing to fire generals that needed firing).

I also trust that, besides praying, I can’t change too much.
