PARIS -- The "yellow vests" in France are worrying greens around the world.
The worst riots in Paris in decades were sparked by higher fuel taxes, and French President Emmanuel Macron responded by scrapping them Wednesday. But taxes on fossil fuels are just what international climate negotiators, meeting in Poland this week, say are desperately needed to help wean the world off of fossil fuels and slow climate change.
Macron said the higher tax was his way of trying to prevent the end of the world. But the yellow vest protesters turned that around with the slogan: "it's hard to talk about the end of the world while we are talking about the end of the month."
The resistance to the fuel tax is a personal blow to Macron, who sees himself as the guarantor of the 2015 Paris climate accord, its strongest defender on the global stage. He has positioned himself as the anti-Trump when it comes to climate issues.

When people are economically pinched, “climate change” quickly fades from priorities. Now Western whites are being told that climate change generated by our industries has impoverished darker people around the world, and we OWE them. The trillions pissed away in aid isn’t enough, they want MO’ MONEY.
Gotta fix that.

Yeah, well you do have to admire this group sticking to proven traditional methods...
Some humans are very parasitic and unproductive.
They do not want to know that at night the Earth radiates most of the heat that it received from the Sun during the day.
That is a process that man has no ability to mess with. If you heat up the Earth a little bit more during the day, the heat is sent out to space.
Everybody loves global warming as a parlor game for virtue signaling. However, enthusiasm drops when it hits lifestyle or pocketbook.
Liberal elitists want us to believe its our fault theres climate change.
And they compound one lie with another by forcing to pay for it.
People just love more taxes! Um, no they dont.
The real problem isnt whats wrong with the environment; its with the arrogance and rapacious appetite of our leaders.
There’s always plan B for climate change, which was massive population reduction and economic collapse
They are trying to slow boil the frogs but they keep jumping out of the pot.
It is beyond that; the former colonies want the former colonial masters to administer again. They’ll risk everything to get back under the care of the white devils. Self-determination for the Third World has failed.
It is hard to force the peons to pay for the kings dreams.
Taxes would not reduce warming.
It is a scam to increase Govt revenue.

Uh. No.
What the rebellion in France shows is that con artists can push too far in shearing their sheep. And once all that sheep skin is removed, they may well find ravening wolves underneath.
AGW is a con. It has been from the start. It’s perpetuated by liars and idiots and serves only to provide the politicals a rich tax feeding ground with which to enrich themselves and their masters.
its hard to talk about the end of the world while we are talking about the end of the month.
“They are trying to slow boil the frogs but they keep jumping out of the pot.”
None of them sees this as a major setback, but just as a minor bump on the road.
None of them question the validity of raising fuel taxes. Rather, the only problem is with *HOW* it was done.
For example, it should have been spun differently (they called it a "fuel tax," which was the "wrong name" for it). Or it would have worked if a different person had introduced it (not Macron, because his popularity figures were already low). Or they should have combined the stick with a carrot or two, to soften the blow. Etc etc.
Bottom Line: there was absolutely nothing wrong with the plan. It was just rolled out wrong.
Here's a typical quote:
"Is it a death knell for the carbon tax or pricing carbon? I don't think so," economist Yohe said. "It is just a call for being a little bit more careful about how you design the damn thing."
Sound familiar? This is the exact same thing that these inmates of institutions of Higher Learning were saying about Communism when it collapsed. "Nothing fundamentally wrong with Communism itself. It's just that Communism has never actually been tried. It was just implemented wrong, and needs a few minor tweaks to make it work perfect. And it was rolled out wrong. Or by the wrong people. Come on, give us another chance to correct it and try again!"
I think that is like trying to kiss your own elbow.
Tact is the ability to tell someone to Go To Hell in such a way they look forward to the trip.
