Our 41st president was the most honorable, decent and capable of gentlemen—as close to the ideal of the office as anyone in our lifetimes. If you’re looking for a role model, I told my children when they were growing up, start with George Bush.

True.

Bush’s intervention in the Middle East is destroying America’s finances 30 years later.

We are in a quagmire in the Middle East.

He was more critical of other Republicans than he was the Democrats, in violation of his boss’ “Eleventh Commandment”.

It’s not like you’d expect Dan Quayle to say anything bad about him.

All I remember is the liberal media criticizing him every day for everything he did and for possibly “pardoning” the Gipper” for the ‘crimes’ he allegedly did (IranContra)

And what a wimp he was.

Sounds alot like what’s going on now.

Can’t wait for the eulogy for Trump(I doubt I will be alive to see this)

It’s pretty bad when the Democrats cannot see the REAL Russian Collusion - and figure out the smokescreen Hillary and John McCain sold to the American people.

so much so that 20 million republicans wouldn’t vote to give him a second term. I was one of them. In retrospect? Not a great idea.. but never forget how angry we were.

In my lifetime, it’s Eisenhower and Trump. Bush41 was polite and decorous but weak on conservative principles and communication; and then there was that carefully-edited shady side.

I’m aware of whom he is speaking.

I don’t think George Sr. had any less allegiance to the reigning towelheads in the region than his son would later demonstrate, again and again.

Remember that one of George Jr.’s rationales for attacking Iraq was that Saddam “tried to kill my dad.”

I know I am conflating the two in their “accomplishments” in that part of the world, but I think they would gladly share the credit.

Reagans biggest mistake George Bush...Were in this mess because George was a get along politican....

Twenty five years and we will be Venezuela...there will only be a few red states..the democrats will invade them ...examples Colorado, NH, Nevada,

You would need a Trump like presidency for thirty years straight to make any headway...

"I don’t think a broken promise counts as a lie—unless you never meant to fulfill it."

Funny, the left never had a problem with Bill Clinton's broken promise of a "middle class tax cut." And of course, Bill Clinton never meant to fulfill that either.

Didn’t the Bushes turn on Quayle, when he entered and then left the 2000 primary campaign for President? GWB of course became the nominee.

Tongue in cheek. As in flighty. But, I did shake his hand in the firing room at KSC shortly before a launch. So there is that. I’ll take an “E” Pat.

I blame him For David Souder and due to his passive do nothing country club Republicanism. I blame him for Bill Clinton and his son Bush nu43 who followed the same policies for Barrak Obama and al lof his judges. I blame him as being the one most responsible for turning our country into a third world toilet and a Democrat sinkhole. He may of liberated Kuwait but he lost his own country.

And his yearly negotiations on harmonizing the United States, Canada, and Mexico, in preparation for the NAU. (oops, that was GW. his offspring)

The guy was an ignorant nightmare.

He thought he was doing good.

Moron.

the ideal republican president, go back on your promise not to raise taxes and quietly lose re-election.

hm... think I pass on repeating that!
