I find the gentleman very difficult to praise. The behavior of the Bush family in 2016 made me start rethinking and examining the real effects of the Bush Presidential service. Suffice it to say I felt betrayed and cynical.
It comes down to whether the definition of gentleman rests on form or substance.

He's speaking of George H. W. Bush, not his son. Bush 41 had the wisdom to smash our enemy and leave, rather than occupy him in a never ending war. I served under both, and am thankful for the wisdom of the elder Bush. I suspect fighting in a war and losing so many friends influenced him significantly. If only GW had learned the lessons of his father.

Boy I don’t know. He gets an A+ as an American. He gets a C as a President. He fumbled the Reagan mantle, ruined the party as far as trustworthiness (Taxes) and ushered in the one world government cretins.
Many have tried to emulate them but none have succeeded in coming close to their level.
