Justice Roberts’ attack against President Trump was blatantly political and wrong.
Fox News ^ | 11/22/2018 | Joseph diGenova | Opinion

In a remarkably inappropriate and blatantly political statement Wednesday, U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts chastised President Trump for the president’s quite accurate criticism of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and its rogue district and appellate court judges.

The spectacle of the ostensibly nonpolitical chief justice engaged in a dispute with the president of the United States is insulting to the Supreme Court and to our system of justice.

Shame on the chief justice. What he did is unforgivable, especially after the corrosive Senate confirmation battle over now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was the subject of bitter and baseless partisan attacks and character assassination by Senate Democrats.

Trump shatters all those boundaries it is impolite to notice.

From the same impartial, incisive legal mind that gave us Obamacare.

CJ Roberts was explaining to Trump that he shouldn’t bring ANY sovereign border issues to the court -at least until Buzzy is replaced.

The CJ himself-like Lindsay Graham was until No-name’s death-may remain “compromised”-and certainly can’t very well come out openly and state that.

Roberts pronouncement was a proforma defense of the court, the third branch of government.

DeGenova should be AG.

Roberts should be working as George “W”s
butler, not sitting as Chief Justice.

Despise that phony. He is Earl Warren II.

Justice Roberts should step down if he wants to be a political pundit.

CJ Roberts was deliberately setting the grounds for a recusal, assuring a deadlock and letting the 9th Circuit Decision stand.

Roberts’ idiotic comment should be grounds for impeachment.

“Roberts pronouncement was a proforma defense of the court, the third branch of government.”

So instead of a Justice, he elected to play political lawyer.

Why?

Exactly. Somehow obamacare is a “tax” mentioned nowhere in the Constitutional and dreamed up by the judiciary, and therefore Constitutional. Yet this “tax” didn’t originate in the House, but never mind that....roberts isn’t interested in the plain text when it comes to the Constituion’s revenue/origination clause.

I agree, I've said since the Obama care case Roberts is all the reason anyone needs not to let another Bush near the White House.

The Justice is delusional if he thinks criticism of the 9th Circuit is new. The American people have called the court The 9th Circus for a very long time.

I used to think Roberts was compromised, now I just think he is a liberal judge. We need another strict constructionist ASAP.

I think Thomas wants to retire, Ginsberg can’t last forever, Sotomayor is in bad health and Beyer could surprise us all.

It is probably time to look into how Roberts adopted his children again for a clue on who is pulling his strings.

In so many ways, John Roberts seems to be a lot like Kasick. It’s scary that so many who are phonies and traitors to conservative values get in positions of power.

His ‘ruling’ is pure politics, not related to law.
