And, if enlightened, these leaders are allowed to lead. Think Revolutionary War General George Washington who went on to become the first President. And World War II General Dwight D. Eisenhower — another President.
But, Nancy Pelosi, the first woman Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the one who delivered some of the largest Democratic House wins in almost half a century, the one who turned the entire Northeast and reactionary Orange County blue — what does she get?
A challenge by a bunch of wannabes.

The grievance group delegates are interested in only their own grievance group. Even if this isn’t the case, and the new black, Hispanic, LGBT (or whatever) Speaker panders equally, the perception will be that the other victim groups aren’t getting their due. Like characters in a country western song, they will fall to fighting amongst each other. It is likely that Pelosi, being an old white person, will actually treat the grievance groups equally, or, be more perceived to do so.
The grievance group psychology is that each group wants to be THE pandered-to group. They may fight each other anyway. In any case, there are no bad (or worse, anyway) outcomes to which group gets the Speakership. I think the GOP should support Pelosi as she is the known quantity and her obvious mental lapses will make her an excellent target to run against two years hence, when her problems will probably be worse and much more on display.

Yes, I agree, but the display part is the aspect to watch. I look forward to her being processed through the PDJT gauntlet of choppers and grinders. In short, Pelosifer will become Genoa sausage for the masses, easy to digest and easily converted to fertilizer for the GOP through the digestive process.

Here’s a fun thought, in a nightmarish sort of way... Since Ocasio-Cortez is seen as the future of the Democrat party, maybe the GOP should support her as Speaker under the slogan “The Future is Now!”
